Forget about thisĀ”

The just PDA concept is dead, don't bother your self buying this out of date product. There is a PDA cellphone around the corner that it's just for you.
Palm drop the ball and lost the opportunity to keep their leadership in the market with ugly products like it's cell phones, and really nice products like this TX that are just out of touch with the market
Never again!

I have owned 2 Palm TX's (One replacing the other). And, just after the warranties expired, the digitizer went out on BOTH of them, making the touch screen totally unstable! Palm really does need to upgrade this product. I'll not buy another!
Palm TX best yet

I have been using Palm since the 90's. After I retired and had a disability, my memory was not reliable and the Palm became my crutch. I upgraded to Zire, to Tungsten, and now to TX. I had my Tungsten T5 set up with all of my memory needs from addresses and phone numbers, to birthday reminders, memos of ideas off the top of the head, journals, to my To-Do lists, audio books, family photo album, favorite music - - - everything I needed and more.
My Tungsten T5 died (maybe from new computer to synch to that used Vista?) When I looked at replacements, I checked methodically; not just Palm, but "pocket PC's" and everything in the PDA category I could find. Palm no longer made Tungsten, and I tried the new TX. WOW, it was better than my Tungsten, more like a pocket PC. Internet connection was simple and no WiFi card needed. I'm keeping my own data entries simpler; no list of To-Do's by month or season, etc.
But for anyone thinking about this device, it is a full featured Palm PDA with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity built in, better Internet browser and email connection, great audio, and I'm still exploring everything else. There is a ton of software for Palm you can choose from. The battery life seems fine to me, and charges easily and quickly. I don't need all of the options for importing your windows Word or spreadsheets, etc. I don't use it for business.
Overall, I love my TX and would buy it again. Think about what you are looking for, how you plan to use it, and see if this model fits your needs. Enjoy.
This thing is cool

I have really enjoyed my Palm TX. The email and wi-fi web features are really great, but I wish the webpages were the actual pages and not text-based. Another thing I really like is that it has Word, Excel, and Powerpoint--the Excel saved my butt on a test the other day! I keep this mainly for the organizer features, which are a lot better than on older Palms or the Ipod touch, which I also have. If you are wanting to buy the Palm for mainly the music and internet features, I'd go with the Ipod touch or IPhone instead. But if you want a nice organizer with some other cool features, I'd say this is the way to go.
A terrible screen fixed!

I purchased this palm for my company on April 1st, 2008.
It worked out of the box just fine, but then it started to not record my clicks on the screen. I looked everywhere for help and found that the only thing I could do is return it.
I wasn't looking forward to returning it, so I went to my account page, clicked on a button, and within 2 hours they wrote back saying that a new one was on the way!
I am really impressed with Amazon and how quick they took care of this problem. Just today I mailed back the defective TX.
I will definitely shop here again!
Lots of promise but with some problems

I am very satisfied with the product but the shipping took a bit longer than expected but wasn't ridiculous. Overall great product and good service. Thanks.
TX leaves something to be desired

Palm's TX product should be a great product but it has some problems that will prevent it from being so. Most nagging are: 1) accessing some applications cause the unit to unexpectedly reset, 2) some applications can not be downloaded to the device (via WIFI or USB), and 3) the unit mysteriously turns itself on while plugged into the charger and USB (I have not noticed this when on batteries alone; and I don't know if it turns itself off).
On the plus side, the ability to create and/or edit Excel and Word documents is fantastic and very useful and will impress anyone to whom you demonstrate it. The rotating display is very helpful and useful as well. The disappearing keyboard is great and makes for a greater viewing area. The WIFI has worked as advertized at my home location. However, on the raod, I have experienced acess problems but I expect these problems were setup/operator issues.
Handy tool for nursing

My first Palm was the Tungsten E2 which i thought i lost. I have come to depend on the quick access to info such as Tabers medical dictionary and a nursing drug book, so i went on a search for a replacement. The TX is every bit as good and better. The larger screen cuts a bit of scrolling out and the keyboard is quicker to use than writing in the Grafiti pad.
Great product at a better price than i could have gotten it localy. I got the Boxwave flip case for it and I'm loving it.
Yeah, i eventually found my tungsten.

This is my first Palm and I am very impressed. This does a great job of organizing my calendar etc plus has many extras. The wi-fi is fantastic and easy to use. Controls are simple to work and learn. The ebook reader is a nice function and easy on the eyes. I like the extra software available - fun games, data management, shopping organizer etc.
I'm a single mom and a busy teacher and this thing has really simplified my life. I have my lesson plans and student notes right on the Palm. I can take my data right there as I'm working and then sync to my desktop. No more messy notebooks or post-its sticking around. It's also password protected. My students think I'm pretty cool carrying this thing around :)
I'm still finding more uses every day for my Palm. Love it, love it, love it!
