Great Kensington Customer Service

After almost one good year of service, the unit started to have static and finally died. Couple of quick email exchanges with the Kensington customer service later, a replacement unit was on its way. Can't say enough about the great service provided by Kensington.

Pretty portable, and amazing sound quality, though audiophiles may disagree with me. We move them around the apartment form time to time and are seriously considering getting another set. Bought as a gift and more likely to be purchased, shipping and cost were well within our budget and like I said, just wonderful!

I used this product, paired with an ipod, to provide the music for my wedding reception, and it was great. It gave full, even sound, and it saved me a ton on a band.

The item was received in good working order and in a short period of time. I am very happy with the sound produced including the bass response. I have had time to play many different types of music and all sound great. I recommend this item to anyone looking for a great way to play their music from the Ipod and charge it simultaneously. This item is like brand new.
Excellent portable I-pod player!! 2007-05-21
I was very impressed with the sound quality of this unit. It isn't the smallest unit, but it is small enough to be easily portable. The larger size (made up mostly of the speaker unit) allows for very good sound quality. The surface area of the speaker provides excellent frequency response, again, for a portable unit. It produces good volume, plenty enough that I can hear the music throughout my house when I am doing stuff. You are not going to power a huge back-yard BBQ or a basement dance party rave with this unit, nor will it replace my 200 watt stereo surround sound system (for when I really want to annoy the neighborhood), but this is a very fine portable I-pod player.

I ordered this speaker for playback with my Ipod Video and for charging. It has a great look - everyone is always asking what it is! I also like the size... it is sleek and skinny. My complaint is with the sound. When I have people over - say 15 people - it doesn't have great LOUD sound. When I try try to turn it up loud, the speaker sounds like it is going to bust. Even when I'm just wanting to listen to it when I'm doing housework all around the house, I just don't think the quality of sound is great. My best friend has the Bose speaker docking station for her and her husbands ipods (video and regular), and it is amazing. I was hoping that mine would sound comparable (after reading the reviews), but the Kensington speaker does not even COMPARE to the Bose. We listen to their Bose in a HUGE room at every week with over 25 people in the room, and it sounds amazing... the base, mix, etc. I'd say the Kensington docking station/speaker is just fine for a one or two room purpose. But if you are looking for great quality sound, LOUD - don't get this. Otherwise - I haven't had any technical or other problems with it... I've had it about 6 months.

We bought this as a gift for my father, and he loves it. He loves being able to charge his Ipod away from the computer and likes the sound it produces. He is so happy with this gift, that we are wanting one for ourselves.
