Editorial Review
The Breastflow Starter Set is a great gift for expecting and new moms. The kit includes everything needed to get started: two 5 oz bottles with Stage 1 nipples and bottle covers, two 9 oz bottles with Stage 2 flow nipples and bottle covers, a unique snap-to-bottle container, and bottle brush.Breastflow is the only feeding system that requires both suction and compression, just like breast feeding. The nipple is designed to mimic the breast so baby can latch on and to encourage the same mouth and tongue position as breast feeding. The double nipple system requires both suction and compression, just like breast feeding and baby controls the flow of milk. It's the bottle most like breastfeeding.

Awesome! 2008-08-26
No leaks at all, maybe others' bottles were defective or they didn't put on or align the nipple correctly. Works just like the breast...no nipple confusion when I had to use these for a GI formula trial with my infant daughter. We switched right on to these from the breast, and right back onto the breast when the formula trial was finished with no fuss!

BPA free would be preferred, of course...

great for breastfeeding but... 2008-08-18
I have been breastfeeding my daughter now for 5 weeks and everytime i go to work twice a week my baby was feeding from medela and born free bottles but when i would get home , my daughter would latch all wrong and it would take me two days to fix her latch! These nipples are perfect but the bottle does contain BPA! I was hesitant to buy thesr for three whole weeks then my nipple cracked one night and OMG!!! So as a chemist i know that BPA is only expelled through heat so I DO NOT ever store, heat or sterilize these bottles..instead wash with ice cold bottled water and store your milk in medela or bornfree bottles and even heat the milk in these then transfer or use bottle liners!hopefully they make a bpa free bottle soon and then i'll give them five stars...be careful but if you breastfeed and pump..these bottle are PERFECT..the nipples are just PERFECT! I am grateful and so are my breasts =D

Contains BPA -- TOXIC Substance!!! 2008-08-11
BPA, a synthetic sex hormone that mimics estrogen, is used to make hard polycarbonate plastic. Ninety-five percent of all baby bottles on the market are made with bisphenol A. The results of the U.S. study show that, when new bottles are heated, those manufactured by Avent, Evenflo, Dr. Brown's and Disney/First Years leached between 4.7 - 8.3 parts per billion of bisphenol A.

Do your research, moms! There are lots of bottles out there that don't contain BPA. Trusted brands like Green to grow, Born Free, Adiri, and Thinkbaby.

awesome bottles 2008-08-05
I love these bottles. It made using bottles while breastfeeding easy. Our daughter took them without much effort and fuss. My only complaint is that they aren't listed as BPA free so I am assuming that they are not. I wish they were, especially as I read more about the effects on children.

you can use avent tempo liners if concerned about bpa 2008-08-04
Our frequent-feeding baby took to these bottles right away and was able to switch back and forth between breast and bottle without a hitch. This bottle has helped to maintain our sanity by letting my wife skip one feeding a day to catch up on sleep. Only the hard plastic/polycarbonate bottle is not BPA-free, but BPA is not present in the double nipple system (inner and outer) which is why we bought this product in the first place. I believe another reviewer commented that the Avent Tempo disposable liners (which are BPA-free) fit these bottles perfectly. We have found this one-two combo to work well, and have found that the liners also reduce air-swallowing as they slowly collapse during feeding. That said, we did do some research on BPA and it seems that it leaches only over time/heat, so using the bottle without a liner a couple times in an emergency when it is still new would be okay too. We have not noticed any problems cleaning the inner/outer nipple after disassembly. So long as the baby latches on properly, I haven't had any problems with the outer nipple collapsing during feeding. Proper latch also seems to minimize milk collecting between the inner and outer nipples. If this were to happen, remember to press the outer nipple inward at two of the four tabs (not just any two, look for the two specifically with holes) to let the precious milk drain back into the bottle.

so-so 2008-07-04

Good idea; poor execution and quality lacking 2008-05-23
I was so excited to try these out since they really do seem like the perfect thing for typically breastfed babies. Maybe we just got a bad batch or something, but I hate these bottles. The outer nipple is designed to feel like a breast, but when my 3 month old gets it into her mouth it collapses onto itself, then the suction from trying to drink from it and the milk gathered in the nipple seem to create some kind of vacuum and make it hard for her to drink. At least that's what it looks like to me. Maybe she just hates them and is fighting me on it. This also seems to be one of the worst bottles that I've tried as far as air getting into the bottle and making baby uncomfortable. Since my daughter has/had some reflux and gas issues, it was a no-go for us. I also used ours pretty rarely and at least two of them (out of the starter set) have cracked already. They don't leak yet, but there are little fissures in a sunburst pattern on the bottom of the bottles. The plastic feels pretty thin and cheap, and apparently it is. It seemed like a good idea, but the quality leaves a lot to be desired, and the design, for whatever reason, isn't working out for us.

A bottle my daughter will use! 2008-05-16
Finally, a bottle my daughter likes. My daughter is 6 months and she is breastfeed normally. But recently we decided to have a night out. So we start work with her with different bottle (kind of expensive but worth it). I finally started doing better research and discovered this bottles. Since we didn't start her on a bottle earlier she didn't know how to use a bottle. But this bottle is so much like breastfeed it is easy to switch back and forth. I love it! I am now a more relaxed and happy mom thanks to this product.

PERFECT! 2008-05-09
This is the most baby friendly bottle ever. I had some problems with my breastfeeding as I got blocked ducts so I gave my baby some formula for a couple of days and she old took the bottle like it was made for her. She switches from the bottle back to my breast with no trouble whatsoever. She gets hardly any colic with these bottles and after drinking from it she burps really well.

I would recommend this bottle before any other. These are the only bottles that I would be using for my baby. I purchased some Avent bottles before this one and I don't even use them anymore.

These are the bottles to purchase, no questions asked.

Best next to Breast 2008-05-04
This is the best bottle ever. My 2 month old refused to take anything other than the breast and after trying more than 4 brands of bottles this one worked and worked well. It has a letdown effect just like the breast so baby wont get confused and she went back to me for a feeding without hesitation. Highly recommended.

My kids just love joining Dora on her exciting adventures and they get to learn a little Spanish along the way. They really respond the the interactivity of the videos especially when Swiper the Fox comes along - "Oh Man!"

She is great as a role model for girls and for learning Spanish .
