Exactly what I wanted

I purchased this unit for a party that I am hosting. It easily hooks up to a tv for viewing of the music text, and it easily hooks up to a stereo receiver for audio. While the built in speakers may not be suitable for party-type applications, hooking the device up to a stereo system works great, and you have as much volume as your stereo will deliver. The microphone provided works great. I am happy with my purchase, and the device does exactly what I wanted it to.

This Karaoke machine is not a toy. It is actually a very nice piece of electronic equipment. The sound volume coming out of the enclosed speaker is adequate. There are cables included with this unit that allow you to connect it to your 2000 Watt Sony Sound System so that you can make yourself deaf - just like a real rock star. Like the rest of the reviewers note, there is also a cable to allow you hook the unit up to a TV so that you can see lyrics. But the kid that I bought this for never uses this feature because she knows the words to all of her songs by heart and doesn't need this feature. The included microphone is what I would consider "studio quality" - it is quite sturdy and seems to have a good sensitivity. I'm sure you know, but I'm going to point that you can sing along with ANY audio CD, not just Karaoke CD's. You can also use this machine as a CD player to listen to your CD's, although the one oversight on this unit is that there is no headphone jack for private listening. This device will also work quite well as a portable Public Address (PA) System. Simply turn the music volume all the way down and the microphone volume all the way up. This a very versatile, very well made piece of equipment and it is a tremendous bargain at $51.

My 7 year old daughter loves this karaoke machine. It has great sound and she enjoys learning all the words to her favorite songs. We've even joined in with her and it's been a great thing for passing the time indoors on cold days. She's begging to have her friends over so they can all do it together. She bought it with her own money and it has been well worth it. It was extremely easy to set up and we've not had any problems with it at all. Best money we've spent in awhile!

We only had less then a week to find a Karaoke system. I was starting to panic. but my youngest daughter said, try amazon they have everything. She was right. within 10 min. we found and ordered a Karaoke system. The birthday party was alot of fun, Thanks to Amazon Julie Hassoun
Great buy for the price 2008-01-28
Can't go wrong with this karaoke machine for the price. No need for on machine lyric display here. We hook it to a small portable TV. Quality is good and it even comes with a few decent songs on a demo CD. We bought it for my 8 year old daughter and she loves it, but it is fun for the whole family.

This is a perfect singing machine for those just begining to get into
karaoke. It's very simple to use and not too fancy. However, it is of good
quality! The sound it emits is very good and the mic it comes with is heavy and sturdy. This machine is lots of fun, even for adults!
Very Satisfied 2008-05-27
I purchased this music machine for my 2-year-old granddaughter, who loves to sing all the songs on her mommy's ipod. She uses it that way or with a CD and knows all the words by heart (obviously she doesn't need them on a screen since she can't read!) I am very satisfied with the quality of the sound and the volume balance between the music and singing. She can hear herself quite well and gets a huge kick out of it. Her mother also enjoys using this in the usual fashion with the TV hookup showing the words on screen and karaoke CDs. (Her husband may be going crazy with all the singing going on, though!) I can see how it is suitable for a wide age-range and will be used for many years by the whole family. It is a real bargain for the price I paid.
Bad Customer Service/warranty

We bought the Singing machine for Christmas 2007. The kids loved it until 4 months later when it stopped playing the CD's. NOTE: THE WARRANTY IS ONLY FOR 3 MONTHS!!!!! That alone should have been a warning to me. Anyway, I contacted the company to see if they would provide some good customer service and repair it anyway and they said it would cost $45 to send it in plus shipping cost. In other words almost as much as a new one. As much as the kids loved it, I will not buy another one because I feel it is a poorly made machine. Beware!
Anything with only a 3 month warranty should be a big red flag for the consumer! Purchase at your own risk.
P.S. My kids are very easy on their toys and most look as new after a year of playing with them. There was no damage to the machine.

Wow, this system didn't cost much, but provides so much entertainment. It is definitely worth every penny. Comes with a sturdy mic and a second slot for another one. I wish I could find the mic similar to this on the web. The Sony one that we bought to go with it doesn't work half as good. This unit never had a problem and we've had it for 6 months and used it a lot. Besides it's easy to find CDGs anywhere now. Our favourites are Disney Karaoke Hilary Duff, Lizzy McGuire, Hannah Montana, High School Musical(red) and Zoom Party Superhits collection. You can find any artist on CDGs now. So don't hesitate, this is a great quality item and the music is easy to find. The modes include echo and there are separate volume controls for the CD and Mics.
Great Birthday Party Present for 7 year old!

We bought this karaoke machine for our daughter's 7th birthday party/birthday gift. Considering it was a Hannah Montana party, it was perfect! Very easy to set up into the TV and also easy to use. She can set it up herself. Sound quility is fine, very adjustable. The 7-year-olds had an absolute blast singing and dancing along, and now she uses it herself whenever she needs her Hannah-fix! We need to get another microphone to plug in so Mom can sing along, too!
