My 2 year old can't sleep without it
2008-07-04
I bought this for my toddler to use as a night light and he loves it. He likes that he can choose different colors. As far as other peoples comments about not being able to see the amber color on the walls and the fuzzy stars, it is faint on light walls, but it still lights up the shell brightly and the green and blue colors appear nicely. The stars are not perfect constellations, but my son is two and does not care about the detail of the stars! The turtle stays with him in bed every night and serves it's purpose as a nightlight. The best part is it shuts itself off after 45 minutes. I would definitely recommend this product for young children.
A cute nightlight

I bought the twilight turtle for my baby, to make his room more relaxed and for him to have something to look at on the walls & ceiling. So far, he's not impressed with it, but I think he'll like it more as he gets older. There are three shell colors to pick from- amber, blue and green. The green definately shows up the best on the walls & ceiling, followed by the blue and then amber. I never use the amber color because it is so dim you can hardly see any of the stars when you turn it on. The other problem I have with this is that there's really not a good enough spot in the room for the stars to show up without looking blurry. Unless you had a tall dresser or something right in the middle of the room, some of the stars are going to be kind of blurry, but that's just how it is. I do like how it will automatically shut off for you.
Overpriced, disappointed in quality

For what I paid, I'm really disappointed.
PROS
-light weight, no cords, can be placed anywhere with ease
-great idea for a night light
-enchanting when its placed just right (in middle of a small room set 5-6 feet up)
-self timer off at 45 minutes
CONS
-too expensive for the quality of the item
-cheaply made, and you cannot replace the light inside once the bulbs burn out (3 separate amber, blue and green bulbs - NOT led so they won't last too long)
-the constellations are very difficult to make out (I love astronomy and can identify stars very easily in the night sky) - these are ambiguous and badly placed and sized
-only some of the stars (a few directly above the turtle) show up on the wall as 'star' shaped - the other half look like Star Trek Federation symbols, those triangular things, or like blobs
-impractical to place - if you place it on furniture along the walls of a room ie. on the dresser or on top of a shelf, you get a cluster of tiny stars against the nearby wall and loose fuzzy big stars on half the ceiling, and none on the other wall (in a room 12x14)
Save your money and get some other machine / light to make constellations. I may try to get my money back based on the poor quality. A shame since its such a great idea.
Lots of Fun

I love this turtle! The babies like looking at the ceiling when I click it on and it makes those 3am feedings more entertaining for me! I can't wait until the kids get older and we can figure out the constelltions together. I sent this to my neices and nephews I liked it so much.
Simple, fantastic addition to the nursery

This is a fantastic product that was loved by everyone at our baby shower and, most importantly, by our new daughter. At only 5 days old, she already calms and stops fussing when the twilight turtle is turned on. I would absolutely buy this again for myself or for a friend!
Twilight Turtle Night Light
2008-07-21
This product is wonderful for all ages. I bought it for one of my twins, who is scared of the dark. He just admires all the stars above his crib that light up his room until he falls fast asleep. The only thing that I wish it could do is stay on until I turn it off or if it could be sound activated to come back on if he is crying. It seems to soothe him, unlike a regular night light. My older children love it too. I actually just went on a trip with a friend and her kids, and I brought it along for my son and she was so impressed by it that she wants to order one for her son.
Fun product, but not all colors are "worthy".

My husband and I bought this for our little girl's nursery. It's perfect; however, the amber lights are barely visible - even when the room is completely dark. Furthermore, the blue lights are not that great (although better than the amber ones). The best are the green stars. They are the most clear and most visible. Overall, we are very pleased with this product and would recommend it to others. Enjoy!
Innovative Toy

This is a highly innovative toy that will certainly last your child for years.
While this particular toy I bought for myself as a turtle enthusiast, I purchased the Cloud b Twilight Lady Bug for my soon to be born niece. As an infant to toddler she will be able to use it as both a nightlight and a plaything. As she ages, she will be able to learn about star constellations and folklore regarding them.
The stars that are projected are bright and by far superior to the short lived glow of the conventional stars.
I highly reccomend this product to those who are looking for unique educational toys that can still be played with and used to further imagination.
Great Good Night Tool

My 2 1/2 year old twins love this turtle! Everynight we say good night to the turtle, one gets to turn it on and one gets to pick the star color. Makes for a super sweet night time routine.
Star turtle
2008-07-07
I bought this as a gift for a new born. It serves as a night light right now. I was kind of disappointed because the turtle really needs to be placed in the center of a room so that you can see the whole starry sky. Basically, that is not where it feasibly can be placed. Hopefully, the child will be able to play with it when she gets older.
