Great little MP3 player! 2008-07-21
This is a great little player, 2 gigs and FM tuner you can't go wrong for the price. If you need it for the kids or for working out get it. I recommended it.

Works well 2008-07-20
bought it a few weeks ago and have not had any problems. Not used to MP3s or ipods and had no trouble loading music onto it. The radio works fine too. The sound is not even too bad considering its very simple ear phones. For the price and my simple needs, it's great. The whole process went smoothly.

Power button problems 2008-07-18
I have a 1GB version of this product and I have never had a problem. I recently purchased the 2GB version and have had significant problems with the power switch. You have to hold it down in just the right spot or it won't go on. Sometimes it totally refuses so I have learned to pull the battery and put it back in and retry and it then works. Otherwise great mp3 player for small amount of money.

very weird thing. poor software. stupid 2008-07-17
1) Can't build a play list

2) the "favortie song" list gets deleted every time you upload new songs

3) Some of my songs just disappeared into the mp3 player. they are still in it, but I cannot find them in the file when I connect the sandisk to my computer. So, these songs are stuck in my sandisk forever... I'm tired of them.

4) poor navigation. it's slow, and the screen is too dark. Not safe to navigate while driving.

5) too bulky. Not good for working out with it.

I just wanted something that worked. It worked, but... I wish I had saved the money for something better

problem with deadlocks 2008-07-17
The price is great for a 2GB player. I bought this to replace my old 512 MB Sandisk player that I had lost. I thought it would work just the same only with more memory. I like that all the features are the same as my old one and that is has a lot more memory but there are a few problems that I have that I didn't have with the old one. The biggest problem is that it frequently deadlocks or freezes up. It will be stuck and none of the buttons can fix it. I have to take the battery out and put it back in to get it going again. This is very especially annoying if you use the clear plastic cover like I do. Other problems are that it is much slower and I think the radio reception is not as good.

Too Many Flaws 2008-07-24
I bought this as a gift for my wife a year and a half ago. We had to get the original replaced because it kept resetting itself and deleting all of the files on it. When it was not doing that it was freezing up.

The second one has avoided the resetting and my wife has had it for about a year now. The problem it has is there are some .mp3 files that it just does not want to play. Those same files work on other mp3 players, Palms, and computers we have without a problem. We have deleted them off the device and tried again and the same tracks still do not want to play.

I bought myself a Creative Zen V Plus about a year ago. My wife tells me that I bought her the cheap piece of junk and got myself the good mp3 player. I may give my mp3 player to her or get her a decent one.

Does not work correctly with audio books 2008-07-23
I have the 1GB version of this player and have used it for almost two years without any problems. I bought the m250 for added storage space.
I need a player to listen to music, audio books and the radio during my commute and assumed that the m250 would work as well as the earlier model. Not so. When you listen to a large audio book file and shut the unit off after fifteen or so minutes it does NOT go back to where you started but returns to the beginning of the track. If you try to fast forward it will jusmp to the next track. This problem has been reported by others on the Sandisk message board but since the product is discontinued Sandisk has offered no solution.

Another problem with the player is that the volume does not go up enough. It is hard to hear audio books in noisy situations like on the bus. The music and radio have a higher volume.

If you want a cheap player to listen to music it works fine. If you want to listen to audio books downloaded from the library look elsewhere.

bang for your buck 2008-07-23
First day using it, right out of the package I hooked it up to my computer and had songs on it within minutes. For the price of this item these days, you cant go wrong. Ive read numerous bad reviews on this item and I cant tell you how picky those people are.

For under $30.00 bucks you get a simple, quick mp3 player AND FM radio...which i am listening to right now with considerably good reception.

The music playback is good, I mean...I didn't spend a couple hundred bucks here so I can only expect it to just play music, and it does it well.

Also went for a run/hike today, fits comfortably in your pocket, It is not heavy at all , earphones fit well and snug.

Basically...You should buy this, its worth the buckage.

Great MP3 Player! 2008-07-22
This is the best mp3 player I have ever had. It works flawlessly. I love all the extra features like the stop watch and FM radio. The unit categorizes songs albums etc. If you turn it off in the middle of a song or book it begins where you left off. Menu is easy to use. Great battery life and uses 1 rechargeable AAA. Sturdy but light. It is a bit thick but I don't mind but it has to be to hold the AAA. The radio picks up great and hold a station. Has great scanning for stations and presets easy to use.

So far happy 2008-07-22
So far, so good. Sound quality is fair to poor, even if burned at the highest bit rate (300K or so). Perhaps none of these mp3 players are great in terms of sound quality. And I did use Sony MDR-7506 professional headphones for the comparison.

Yet another pair of earbugs that fall out of my ear. The very short--at least one other reviewer noted its length--USB connector is supposed to function as an optional antenna. Didn't seem to do much for me but make it more cumbersome. I, like another reviewer, found the wrist band useless. Perhaps if I had massive arms...

Still, sharp LCD screen. Fast-forward/reverse in mp3 files, if at bit a little touchy on the controls (again, noted by someone else). I mean fast-forward within a file, not simply from one file, or song, to the next. Previous purchase couldn't do this. Nice bar display of how far you are in the mp3 file. Perhaps more of interest if you are playing public radio programs or the like. If you are using NiMh batteries, it is time to recharge when the LCD displays 50%. (About 1.18 V)
