I am impressed... 2008-02-12
It emits a nice blue / white light (much like moon light). Max distance is about 15 to 20 feet, but is more of a wide beam; so it is ideal for lighting up an entrance way. I've read alot of good reviews on this product over most others. I just bought mine but heard they last for a good year before the batteries need replacing.

fails to deliver on (preceived) promiss of "freedom from the power company" 2007-01-27
I was diluting myself when I thought this solar powered, LED floodlight would allow me to illuminate Old Glory without having the pay the coal-burning, environmentally-unfriendly power company for the electricity.

Sadly this product can't provide the candle-power to illuminate much. Even with a full charge on a bright, sunny day, the light the LEDs cast that night is defuse. The lamp has to be with in a foot of the surface it's illuminating to be effective.

This device might be effective in lighting up your mailbox or house number if mounted very close to it, but as a yard lamp, it's useless.

Perfect for spot 2008-07-08
I purchased two of these lights at my local Wal Mart store ($19.95ea) and used them to light up a for sale sign in front of my house (one on each side). They worked perfectly. I ended up not needing to sell my home, but now I have them in my backyard lighting up a rock wall. They give GREAT accent lighting. I have a 40' section of wall 7' high and one light can illuminate about a 4-6' section. I'm planning on getting a few more to fully light the wall. I also just built a second story deck and they worked great for lighting the columns of the deck to below. Not sure if I'm going to use them for top down lighting or bottom up. Either way they are perfect. They give a range of about 7'. I'd say they'd be perfect for lighting a small tree or something no larger than 10' tall.

Just what I needed 2008-06-13
These solar lights are just what I was looking for to illuminate an outdoor staircase at night. They are bright enough to light up the stairs without being too bright as to be annoying.

not very good~~Malibu Solar Plastic Flood Landscape Light 2008-06-13
this light does not OMIT much light at all, but it is better than the last one i bought and took a loss on!

Great product 2008-06-02
These lights are terrific and give off great light for as little as they are. I plan to buy more.

Works well......for awhile 2008-04-12
I bought one LZ415 solar light to light up the back door of our house in Florida. I mounted it on the eave just below the shingle line so the solar panel would receive full sun throughout the day. After one year the plastic cover of the solar panel was completely opaque; no sunlight could penetrate the plastic cover so the batteries could not recharge. I tried to clean it but apparently the plastic's molecular structure altered making the plastic opaque throughout. Hence, the light became utterly useless. When it did work it worked great! It cast an attractive light around the entry area making our guests feel more comfortable and grilling at night safer. But it's not worth $26 a year (at Home Depot) which I'd have to do. I sent an email to Intermatic to see if they have a replacement solar panel/battery compartment but no reply yet.
