ready strip review

The product works OK but not as well as claimed. Took two times to clean off about 4 layers of old paint. Found that re-wetting it helped if it got too dry, but also made the wood underneath very soft and easy to gouge. A good safe alternative, but not the best stripper I've used.
Works well and produces little to no disturbing odors.

The major benefit of this product to other chemical strippers is that it does not release any noxious fumes; a big issue when it is 25 degrees fahrenheit outdoors!
A generous amount of the ready strip product will need to be applied to the surface to be stripped. Since I was stripping metal, the original factory coat is always the most difficult to remove. It took two applications to remove the paint without excessive "elbow grease".
Plan to use a lot of this product for it to be effective.
The best paint remover EVER

I live in an old home. I have been remodeling and in the past have used messy, smelly, burning paint removers that you need to ventilate areas well and not have the stuff touch your skin.
Ready strip does not smell, you apply it...it clings! leave it and come back hours and maybe even the next day and just use a scraper to easily remove layers of paint down to the wood. I do find I need to reapply to get all the undercoat off..especially those sills that have been repainted about 15 times!
Highly reccomend the stuff!!!
