Great next step

I just completed this video and Essential Line Dances Volume 1 and really liked it. It moves faster than Line Dance 101 and this time I was ready for it. Shawn is such a great instructor and I highly recommend him. The only thing I wish was different is the music; I wish it was to the actual songs, but i understand why he didn't use them (still wish they were different though).

Easy to follow! We are enjoying the video.

End of the line for this terrible DVD!!!

This has to be one of the worst videos we have seen. Very non-professional settings, in a bar where you can see customers coming and going in the mirrors, come on! The instructor my say he is a professional dancer, but he continually struggles throughout the video with teaching on camera. The lack of a script is very evident as he looks past the camera to the director for help. Keep your $30+ and find a local adult education class, as the level of quality has to be better than this. One star because you have to give it one.

Good mix of dances

I liked that the instruction was a little faster in this one than in Line Dance 101 and that some different variations of the dances were given. It may have been too fast if I hadn't seen Shawn's 101 DVD first. I liked the music but agree with other reviewers that it could be improved.

We bought this for exercise purposes because we have minimal line dance experience and with a little instruction we thought we could get both instruction and exercise. Wrong. We got the instruction in a painfully slow format and very little music for exercise. Would not recommend unless you have never seen a line dance.

No party action there, just basic footwork.

don't buy it

The other reviewers must work for Rick Trautman. This is slow and boring. You MUST sit thru a lame intro of this guy that you can't skip thru. The dances don't resemble any of the dances I have ever done. I didn't get it. He spends a long time on I don't know what and never teaches you the steps. I didn't even recognize the music. It was not the electric slide or cotton eyed joe.... I really just don't get it.
I give it 0 stars.

Thanks again, Shawn! After I received this one even my husband has gotten interested. He may even take me line dancing before neither of us can dance.

Our children are really impressed with how fast and how much we are doing.

Easy! Fun! Great exercise without great exertion!

Threw away the other CD's from other instructors. Shawn rules!!!

Just what I wanted

I bought this dvd to learn the Macarena and the Electric Slide, and it was just what I wanted. Shawn doesn't just show the steps, he actually teaches each and every one and it's very easy to follow. I like that extra turns are shown as options for the dances. I would also like to have had the full versions of the music, but it doesn't take away from the instruction - Shawn is a great instructor. Having taken line dance classes in the past without great success, I'm definitely recommending this product to my friends.

easy to learn

This dvd is wonderful and easy to follow. It is very easy to learn because the steps are repeated and shown at different angles. I watched the electric slide portion and learned it very quickly. I have been to weddings where people are doing these dances, but never had anyone to show me how to do them--this is the perfect solution. I only wish he had actually played the electric slide song, instead of an alternate one. It's great!
