This fun little radio is perfect for FM *and* AM fans. I was surprised to find that AM radios are hard to hunt down in stores so I came online. After reading reviews for this radio, I could see it was what I was looking for and when it arrived (before the Amazon estimated date) I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be better than expected! For all you fans of the "old fashioned" radio manual dials (and i was raised on digital) this little radio will be a delight. And thanks to you who posted instructions on how to adjust the armband so that it works correctly (the band does not pass behind the radio, but instead loops up around your arm with the both two velcro squares fastening back on the outside of the strap, so that your arm actually touches the back of the radio)
Bad reception

Bought this to use at the gym, but could only get reception for one of the gym's television stations - and that one was not a clear signal. I tried it at another gym and the signal was worse there than at the first. Now it's in my give away pile and I'm shopping for a portable radio with good reception.

this thing is just great, it is exactly like what I want. it works well outdoors and also fine indoors. If you are familiar with tuning radio by yourself, you can get along well with it. and I even connect it to a set of speaker, the sound volume can go really high, and that is great!

Reception is poor, but I can jog with it without being too distracted by the signal quality. I wouldn't plan to enjoy a symphony on it though, nor would I use it if I was really listening to it as opposed to just using it as background.

I like to listen to an AM radio call-in show while I'm on the treadmill at the gym. I did not want to spend much on a new radio - after all, AM radio technology has been around forever.
It's hard to find an AM radio that doesn't have rotten ratings. When I saw this radio for $5 and it had reasonable ratings, I jumped. I paid just as much for shipping but for $10, I am very happy. If you can find this radio in your local store, grab it and save yourself the shipping.
I used the radio for the first time this morning and it worked just fine. I appreciated the dial tuner because it gave me maximum control to get the best reception. Ear buds don't work for me because they don't stay in my ears (maybe I'm deformed) but the ear buds that came with the radio appeared to be of normal quality.
The only semi-negative comment that I can think of is that the round face of the radio is bigger than I expected. It kinda looks like a large compass. It's about 2.5" in diameter.

I've used other Coby mini radios before but nothing compares to this one. It's sturdy, well assembled, durable. Dials work great and I get perfect tuning when I work out at the gym. The arm band is great (yes, the instructions are not quite clear) but once you figure out that the band is not supposed to pass behind the radio itself (just your arm) you'll realize what I mean. It is 100% adjustable and the material is soft on your skin and still resistant. If you don't mind the fact that this little radio is not digital this is for you.

I bought this product because I wanted to hear radio when I am running. But this product could not keep signal of a station. Maybe this is bacause physical location keeps changing as I run. So, I have to tune the signal all the time. If I do not tune the channel. It makes too much noise. So, currently, I don't use this product. I think I will buy MP3 player with Armband. Armband of this product is good.

It works fine for the gym, didn't care for the armband strap. The earbuds worked fine for me.
