I actually bought these ones with my 5G 60 gb ipod video, i chose them because they were the plainest ones and also the cheaper ones having in count that usually thats the prize of just one case. My white ipod got stolen (sic) with the reddish case... (its transparent red alot clearer than the photograph)and then my brother bought a 30gb ipod video and used the transparent dark one with a piece of bubbles plastic in the back, worked nice for him whos too cheap to buy his own case... and finally my mom got my a 5.5g 80gb ipod video :D and now im using the clear transparent one. My brother actually is very mean with tecnology and even so...the ipod is in perfect state and the case has minimum scratches...mine...is in perfect conditions plus 2 microscratches in the back (im more careful but i still use it in jacket pockets and the back of my backpack). It resist major fallings too (i hadnt tried so the biggest fall it had to suffer was from second to first floor 4mts app).
The cons: it tends to catch mini particles such as pieces of tobacco leaves and very little of dust particles, this may cause micro local scratches (ok im neurotic) this happens cause of the headphone and hold holes.
Another con is that has another hole for the down plugger that just stays unprotected and the round control thingy also stays unprotected but as i had left the original protective film that has a little piece to cover the inferior plug too wasnt a problem for me.
Just What I Wanted 2007-02-08
So I thought it wouldn't work with my 80g ipod but what do you know it works great. I like the options of the colors as well. The clear and black. I don't use the red that much but hey whatever floats your boat. Works great in protecting it too. I have dropped my ipod I don't know how many times and one time I dropped it while in a haunted house. After being kicked around a couple of times I picked it back up and it was fine. (ps don't take the ipod in a haunted house bad idea almost lost it not to mention I had to get one of the scarers to get a flash light) Anyways. I recommend this product for anyone searching for something to keep the ipod from getting scratched. The case takes the damage and the ipod stays safe. : )
