I own the 11th Webster Collegiate Dictionary model (SCD-1870A) from Franklin, and I like it very much. I bought this "Tutor" thinking that the depth of the dictionaries would be similar. Wrong! The VOX Spanish dictionary does not provide as many words as the VOX version from MobiPocket (for only ~ $24.00) which you can upload into your Palm or PDA. The English dictionary is not the 11th Webster (I knew this).
The screen has frozen a few times and I had to do a soft-reset.
Also, it requires more key strokes than the SCD-1870A to advance the text or to go to the next definitions. A few words, when selected, are not linked to the right content, and I had to use the UP or DOWN arrows to get to the right definition.
I mainly bought it so that I could have the four dictionaries in one device (as I already do with versions I boguht from MobiPocket and uploaded into my Palm) with the advantage of the spoken pronunciation. But the dictionaries have a limited set of words, not enough for an advanced user.
Regarding other features, the "tutor" elements, I cannot give an opinion, since these elements were not the motivation for its purchase.
I read books in English and Spanish, and I find having this type of tool handy a real plus! My vocabulary has improved a lot. Just that it is overpriced.
