Charmed Season Four

Season Four of Charmed ranks of probably my favorite season of Charmed. It does something few shows can do. A major chacacter, probably the strongest (Shannen Doherty,Pru) has left and a new one is brought in to fill the void (Rose McGowan, Paige). Many would think this would not work, but it works flawlessly. In this Season, you see the charmed ones reconstituted, Paige working to become a witch and making some funny screw-ups, and Phoebe become Queen of The Underworld. I can honestly say I love every episode in this season and some would disagree but I love the long story arc(s) presented in this season. The best ones are:

Something missing

I never watched "Charmed" until it was in it's rerun stage. I loved the first 3 seasons very much, but once Alyssa Milano, and the rest of the producers hurded Shannen Doherty from the show, there was too much of the flavor of the original theme lost. Never was there a complete explaination as to why the sisters could not play with time and return Pru, as with everyone else who had died. You know bring her back from the dead, or prevent said death in the first place. Big mistake.

Next when they welcomed Piper's children into the fold and they called upon past generations in the welcoming ceremony, but there was no Pru. Snub? Oh yes a new sister joined the fold, but it just never had the same draw. Suddenly it became the "Phoebe Show," and the rest of the sisters became nothing more than background. That balance was lost.

Shannen was very easy to blame, because of her track record but I have always felt there was more to the story, and the series suffered because of that change, a change for the worse I might add.

The best Charmed season!

Love the introduction of Paige, she reminds me of myself and makes the show funny again.

One of my fave seasons!

Season 4 is a big turing point for the show. I was upset that Prue died and was prepared not to like Paige, but she won me over. Some of the stories got a lot more fairy tale like, but I thought it was a good mix. This is an excellent show and a must have for any Charmed fan.

AT TIMES IT CAN BE A BIT CHEESY, BUT THATS ENTERTAINMENT. I ENJOY WATCHING THINGS THAT ARE NOT SO THOUGHT PROVOKING, SO JUST SIT AND ENJOY AN ENTERTAINING SHOW.

One of the six discs (four episodes)will not play. When inserted into dvd screen reads "no playback feature." As I have opened and played some of the other discs I am unable to return the item but I will certainly remember this when shopping for dvds in the future.

super series

I bought this as part of a set of the whole series for my 14 year old daughter for Christmas last year. I watched the first season with her and found it appropriate for her age, as well as deeming it acceptable for my 10 year old son as well. He loves it, also! I would love to see more great fantasy programs like this offered to kids and teens. Where have the good ol' days of television gone? I would reccommend this for girls (though brothers will likely enjoy, too) ages 10 to adult even.

Season 4

I have to say out of the first four this season is the best. Paige did a great job feeling Prue's shoes, of course I never liked Prue lol. Anyways, With this season the season becomes more about the three sisters and less about the eldest, which is what the show was suppose to be in the first place. Phoebe and Cole get married finally and he becomes the source and she goes evil for a few episodes one because she's pregnant with demon spawn and two because she loves her husband, but in the end she kills him with her sisters. Yeah I'm so annoyed that they didn't stay together and I guess that's one of the reason I dislike Paige, she picks up after Prue trying to kill Cole. All in all, great season, worth every penny...well at least the Used prices, $30 is freaking ridiculous.

I am a charmed fan who has been waiting to get this show on dvd since season two aired. I am going to be getting the entire series, and if you are a fan of show i recommend the purchase. The dvd is great, arrived as expected no complaints.
