Editorial Review
The lyrically funny romance of Jean and Lionel continues its whimsical course in the Reunion Specials as Jean Pargetter's (Dame Judi Dench) great anticipation for grandchildren is revealed much to husband Lionel's (Geoffrey Palmer) dismay. With son-in-law Alistair and daughter Judy having problems things don't look too promising. But will Jean's dream of becoming a grandmother come true when Sandy and her husband Harry return from Canada?

judi dench and geofrey palmer know how to deliver comedy...without every other word a swear word. perfect timing..marvelous story line... hollywood writers and actors could take a much needed lesson

No regrets 2008-03-27
My husband and I have been fans of "As Time Goes By" in recent years, and have always looked forward to PBS showings. However, we were always frustrated that we didn't see all the series. So finally decided to splurge and purchase the series, and we are so pleased - we have no regrets. The video tapes are a better quality than what we see over our PBS station, and the sound track seems easier to understand. We are very pleased - we know we will be watching these tapes for many years to come.
We can't imagine that anyone would be disappointed in their purchase.

script. Excellent.

As Time Goes By DVD 2007-11-20
Loved this series. These DVD were recorded for the British public, and I find USA has problems viewing them.

The DVDs play through my DVD player into my TV, but they won't play on my computer DVD player. A screen pops up claiming I have to select a region, even though I've already selected USA. It also warns that you'll only be allowed to make this selection a limited number of time (five, if memory serves).

From my computers I've tried two memorex DVD players, two LGs, and a Lightscribe. The As Time Goes By won't play on them.

Also should mention that from time to time, even playing through the TV, the Series disks freeze up, play a bit, freeze up again. Usually, I close them out and reload until they play normally. Sometimes they won't play properly no matter how many reload attempts I make. I had this problem on more than one DVD player as well, so the problem has to be with the As Time Goes By disks.

If you're a fan, it's worth it just for the extras 2007-10-09
These last two episodes were very enjoyable and consistent with the general tone of all the ATGB shows. They didn't miss a beat picking up where they left off. The only thing that bothered me was the replacement for Harry's character, who didn't carry over Harry's boyish sensitivities. Not a big deal though, as this is all good fun. I found the bloopers refreshing and hilarious. It's fun watching these actors who we are so fond of, having a good time. The extra behind-the-scenes footage was interesting as well and not too lengthy or technical at all.

Fitting end to a great series 2007-09-30
I love this show and I watch it over and over again. The Reunion Special, however, is the weakest link in the chain. Dame Judith Dench is brilliant and energetic but the rest of the cast looks tired. The energy that made the show so brilliant is lacking. Still, if you are a fan of the show, this is a must see.

Great Show 2007-07-12
This was a special anniversary made for PBS. I was a fan of the show and this only airs on PBS when they are begging for money. I am really happy that I was able to get the DVD. It's a great series.

I am upset though that the DVD menu didn't have a Play All Episodes option so you have to restart the show in the middle. They show the whole program in one go on PBS, why did they split it up on the DVD?
