Installation is quick and easy. Although without antennae range is excellent. No problem with dropped signals or heat. It is portable and can be used in multiple computers laptop and desktops. The only thing I don't like is that it sticks out too far and does not seat securely. So I am going to get an internal card and install myself. Anyone can do it.

Linksys WUSB54GC Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter
In my opinion the Linksys routers and associated products like the WUSB54GC adapter, which is the receiver for the router signal on the satellite computer, are the best on the market. But what makes them the ONLY product to buy is their customer service. Unlike Microsoft and many other computer product companies, Linksys will happily solve your technical problems on the phone free of charge even if the product is not new. My wife got a new computer. Her old one was the satellite in my system. I could not get her new one to receive the signal. Even though the linksys router on my main computer was a few years old, Linksys told me exactly what I had to do to get it running. Never asked me how old the router was, or did I just buy it. No $45 up front charge to answer a question. This is the company with which you want to do business.

Just bought this to work with Linksys G router (which I bought to replace a constantly failing Belkin N1 router). The Linksys router was easy to set up - works well with a wired Vista desktop and a wireless XP laptop. However, when I connected this Linksys USB adapter to a desktop in our garage, I get a 'Limited or no connectivity' message. Too far away, you say? Well, I have almost direct line of site to the router and this desktop had at least SOME connectivity with the Belkin N1 (the worst router out there right now). My Dell laptop gets 'Excellent' signal strength (at 54 mbps on G) when placed next to this desktop. The desktop's 'signal' is 11 mbps and when I actually try to connect to the router or Internet, it cannot do so at all. When you go to the Linksys support page for this product, you san see several users who are having the same problem and getting no help from Linksys. Unless you plan to put your wireless USB adapter within 24 inches of the router, don't get this adapter. It's weak.
The Linksys USB Range Plus significantly extends my wireless range

I replaced an older Linksys wireless router (WRT54GS) and an older USB wireless adapter with the Linksys USB range-plus adapter and the Linksys's WRT100 wirless router and it has made a huge difference Linksys WUSB54GC Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter

Great for a Non-Techno person

This equipment was very easy to use/install -- especially for one who is not all that computer savvy. And it saved me from having to have a new phone jack installed. Definitely worth it and reasonably priced.
Might work for someone else

I'm still trying how to figure this thing out. My laptop wont recognize it even though it's hooked up and the signal strenth is good. I had so many problems with this.
