Wow- this thing is heavy!!

this step stool looks great on the web.... I had a costco branded one that fell apart literally-- so Iiked that this one was load rated and seems to look nice enough. Unfortunately, when it arrived (it took a month BTW) it was so heavy that my wife and my son could not reasonably lift it and move it around safely.... step stools are presumably for people on the small side to reach stuff that is on the high side, so a product made from a light weight material is called for, not so for this one. I order 95% of my "stuff" from Amazon/ web but this is the kind of thing one should go to a retail store for I think...

Nice looking, a bit big for closet use

This teaches me to read the description clearly & carefully. When looking at the picture, thought the blue steps were rug like material, so thought this would be a perfect addition for my bedroom closet.

It's vinly, and it's clearly written on the site, my fault for not reading. This is good quality, the rubber feets don't just fall off, very sturdy made. A bit heavy for carry around, especially for girls. Was hoping my wife would quit bugging me to get the top shelve items from the closet with this stepper, but because it's so heavy, she still bugs me about it. That's why I had to take off a star from the rating... didn't solve my problem.

This step stool is perfect for my wife. It is the first stool that she feels safe using. The stool stores flat in her walk-in closet out of the way. The stool is very stable on the carpet in the closet.

great product if it's shipped with any care at all

I think that this is a great step stool for a large person, as it's steady and feels secure. Granted, it's heavier than others, but I like that.

As I'm writing this I'm waiting for a replacement, as it was shipped in nothing but a plastic bag (I'm not kidding), and arrived with scratches from along the way. I've been promised the replacement will arrive in a box so that it'll be undamaged and I'll have some way to return the first one.

It's a very sturdy step stool - It is heavier than any of the others which is a good and perhaps not so good thing since it takes 2 hands to move it - then again it keeps one focused on moving it then moving whatever it is you want to put on a shelf - I'm used to the one handed stools so it has taken some getting used to. I've got a feeling this item will last many years. - A good value for the Money.

Step stool - not chair

It's higher than a step stool and less bulky than a typical ladder. It's a perfect way to reach into those upper shelves in kitchen cabinets or closets. It folds away easily and, at 3.75" thin when folded, occupies little storage space.

Very nice and sturdy step stool

The best step stool I have ever owned/used. It's super stable, sturdy and tall enough that I can nearly use it as a ladder around my apartment. Also provides a good seating option :)

It is exactly what they said it wold be. It's a bit heavier than I anticipated. It folds very nicely and is perfect for the purposes for which I obtained it.

Sturdy Enough But Won't Stay Closed

I certainly like the sturdiness of this step stool. However, the rail is useful only has something to add to the sturdiness of the product - not something I would hold onto going up and down.

The one thing that needs to change - there is no hook or anything to keep the step stool closed for storage.

I had the same experience with Karen--a broken plastic housing around the top "hinge-ratchet." But unlike Karen, I thought it was worth returning, since Amazon makes that so easy. Two days later, the replacement arrived, intact. It works, it looks good [actually matches the brushed SS fixtures in our kitchen], it's solid, and the Amazon price is cheaper than elsewhere.
