GOOD CAMERA BUT BROKE AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF 2008-08-09
Overall, this camera was great for me. I thought it took great quality pictures and was very easy to use. I especially liked the touch screen!! The only disappointment was that my camera broke a few days ago. I had this camera only a year and a half and one day i tried to turn it on and it kept saying "turn power on and off again." I did that, even reset the camera, but it wouldn't allow me to take pictures or go into the settings mode. I contacted sony about this issue and they told me there was no such issue! (exactly, what I read on the messages boards from others who have this camera) Sony told me that my camera needs repair and needs to be sent in. It would cost $170+tax and shipping. With that money you can buy a new camera. I would just like to know if anyone else had this issue? I never treated this camera bad and it was always in its case if not in use. Don't get me wrong, this camera took clear pictures!

Tremendous Little Camera 2008-08-05

Show Stopper! 2008-06-21
This is my second Cybershot I ever owned, and I am totally excited over it's features and quality of photos. I first have to say that I was lucky to find it at a year end clearance sale at SEARS for only $280!Yep... be a smart shopper and find the better price.
The camera's photo quality is just unbeatable, with clarity that is so sharp its almost like looking at something in real life. This camera is definately for the gadget guru who enjoys showing off a new toy! The large screen with built in slide show and music is definately a show stopper, but putting your own music on it is even more amazing! Even the ability to shoot video with sound is a great feature. The touch screen is impressive and so easy to use. My only problem has been the constant smudges, and wiping off the screen...other than that it's the perfect camera for anyone.

let down 2008-05-19
The Sony camera that I purchased was advertised as "same as new" or equivilent. The camera I received was anything but. The condition of the camea was very poor; all scratched as though it had slid on cement. There were no directions for how to use it and there was no card to store the pictures. The cord attached is very dirty showing plenty of use overall.
I am very disappointed in the product, especially after the way it was presented. I'm glad for this opportunity to complain and I would like the new camera that was promised. Richard Eppink

Fantastic Camera! 2008-04-18
This camera is truly fantastic; it's worth every single penny I paid (and more). First lets talk about aesthetics because, lets be honest with ourselves here, it DOES matter what the camera looks like on whether or not we buy it.

This camera is really beautiful and sleek; it's done in a light champagne color that's unique from other cameras on the market. Champagne is great because it adds flare without it looking too masculine or feminine. The camera is slick and shiny, which is always nice and the lens only extends with turned on, when off the lens is flush with the rest of the camera.

The camera itself is ridiculously simple to use. Then there's the huge display (touch screen). This thing is awesome; I've never had any problems at all with the touch screen, it's really simple to navigate and there are dozens of options to make sure that your pictures turn out exactly right. I'm a sculptor so understandably I wanted pictures that accurately represented my sculptures. I've always had a hard time getting those pictures, but with the numerous settings available on this camera I eventually found the perfect settings for them.

The camera takes amazing professional grade pictures with fantastic resolution, size and color. The pictures, at their highest setting, are pretty huge, but it's simple enough to reduce them in any art program if you decide you'd like them smaller or cropped. There is also an art program directly in the camera - you can draw on pictures with the stylus right on the touch screen.

I can't say that I even remember ever using the software - it does come with a really nice picture viewer, but since I already had one that I favored I rarely use the one it came with.

I've had this camera for over a year now and I've never had any trouble at all with it. As a matter of fact, I only just recently bought a spare battery to use when mine runs down during a photo shoot. Oh, and on the subject of batteries; this is a pretty good one. Personally, I would recommend getting a spare, but I would recommend that with any electronics that take batteries. You don't want to be in the middle of a shoot and have your batt die, or go to go get a great shot after not using the camera for a while only to realize the batt is dead or dieing. So definitely get a spare. Since this camera automatically shuts down after a couple minutes of no use, that really saves the battery; with my last camera, every time I plugged it into my computer to retrieve the pics if I left it on too long (while plugged into my comp) the battery would be dead when I came back - but I haven't had any problems like that with this one.

Overall, this is a great camera, I would suggest it to anyone looking for a high end camera; there are very few that can compete with it (unless you want to pay $4,000 for something 4x as big).

Oh, and one last thing - this camera also takes video. The video quality is pretty darn good. It's not professional grade video, but it's more than enough for home movies or school plays. For my professional stuff I use a high end Sony Camcorder (the Sony HDR-SR12), but when I'm in the backyard filming my dog or shooting footage of the kids playing in the pool, this one is more than sufficient.

Excellent 2008-01-28
I am very happy with this camera. My sister previously purchased one and after seeing hers, I just had to have one. It is great!! You deserve one too!!

Love my Cybershot! 2008-01-20
The Cybershot takes fantastic pictures, even in low light. (I prefer natural light to flash photos, but the flash is there if you need it!) I love the big screen, and the slide show features. It comes with the cables you need to sync with a computer (it works great with iphoto on my iMac), and you can use the cable to show the slide show directly from the camera on a TV. I keep several memory sticks to use for different purposes and I can store my classroom photos separately from my personal photos. It's also small enough to carry in my pocket making it a great choice for a vacation. The 10 MP gives fantastic resolution to my pics, and great enlargements. Overall, a great camera!

Excellent Product. 2008-01-03
This is a great camera,I think the image quality is great and the optical zoom works really well, the touch screen is great

Pricy but the best camera I have ever had! 2007-12-17
I have had this camera for 10 mths now; but I wanted to let prospective buyers know my review.
I love this camera. It's size is small and classy. Takes great shots. A bit blurry when the lighting is not good, but not bad/often enough so it bothers me. Easy to load pics onto my pc.
I suggest buying an extra battery, a carry case and and extra memory card. With all that you are set. Except for the price being steep, you won't be sorry...I am happy I purchased it. I may get another for family member if I get the money.

In a couple of hundred pages, it includes using a scanner and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 to rescue faded, damaged family photos, the basic guidelines to good picture taking, how to use Elements 2 to improve your digital photos, and how to print and preserve your pictures for the ages. White, the author of the bestseller "How Computers Work," knows how to pack a lot of helpful, understandable information in a brief no nonsense book.

Review: "This Camera is one of the best in its price range. It takes beautiful clear pictures and can be used right out of the box, but its worth learning all its features. The included memory holds about 20-25 pictures so I upgraded to 128mb. I reccomend getting a 128mb card and the Sony camera case. Not only is this one of the best cameras in its class it includes decent software and rechargeable batteries that are at least a 20$ value.
HIGHLY reccomend over canon, kodak, and fuji. One more thing this camera has CARL Zeiss lens (if you dont know, great lens) all the competetors have generic lens."

The fact is a camera’s megapixel rating is only a measure of how many pixels (photosensitive sites) an image sensor has…. An image sensor is simply one component of an entire system that produces a digital photograph… So resist buying into the megapixel hype when you’re choosing a digital camera. From Chapter 1
