Great lightweight knife

This makes a great knife to take along on hikes and backpacking trips. The built in clip folds in nicely when not in use. The knife frame is made from aluminum so if it's clipped on a belt or backpack you don't even know it's there. The "one handed blade launcher" works surprisingly well with a little practice. Overall a name you can trust with awesome features.

I'd needed a pocket knife for ages, and finally went in to one of the local stores to check out folding knives. The knives on display were really nice, but really pricey ($80-$100). I went to a chain sporting goods store, and they had inexpensive knives, but they were total junk.
The Leatherman fit the bill perfectly. I kind-of relied on their name as an assurance of quality, and was not disappointed. The knife is light, super sharp all the way to the tip, and the finger cam to open it works so well people think you have an auto-open. I'm completely able to operate it with one hand. The bottle opener works in an opposite fashion from a regular opener, but you'll get used to it by the end of one party or BBQ.
My only negative comment is the slight bit of side to side play when you grasp the blade, a sign of loose bolsters. After handling the knife and paying the low price, I'm over that.

What a great knife 2006-06-14
I've owned a lot of pocket knives over the years, and the features of this one really stand out. The blade launcher is a great way to open the knife quickly and with one hand...even much easier than the thumb stud.
The knife is light and a great size. And who can't love a knife like this that also has a bottle opener in it?
Much to bulky

This knife has a very excellent blade but the handle is much to thick and bulky. Could do without the clip on the bottom.
A very nice, but not perfect knife

I got this as a replacement for a knife I lost a while ago, and so far I like this knife quite a bit, but have a few minor complaints.
First, the things I liked;
-bottle opener/carabiner is very useful, yet never gets in the way and doesn't take up much space
-the blade is nice and sharp and hasn't dulled much since I got it
-the serrated-edge is very useful
And now the things I didn't;
-The bottle opener does not open all types of bottles and is more difficult than a traditional one to use
-the blade launcher does not work for me. My old knife had one which worked perfectly, however on this one no matter how many times I've tried it only will open half way, which is simply not convenient since I still need to use my other hand. I'm not sure if this is by design or just a problem with my knife specifically, but either way I am disappointed.
Overall, A good knife with many features, but by no means would I call it perfect
Last Knife I'll ever Need 2008-05-10
Unless I lose this knife, I will never need another... Except for maybe a machete. I use this every day, even if I don't necessarily need to, and I think it's getting sharper. Blade launcher is so much fun to use, it should be illegal. The carribiner is useless as an attachment function, but has made my life so much easier as a beer bottle opener. I used to use the blade of my old knife as a bottle opener in an emergency, and that was just bad for the blade, and my fingers. Now my blade remains sharp and I'm free to do other stupid things with it, like cutting the security tags off of merchandise at shopping malls.

The knife is incredibly durable and very, very sharp. Excellent quality for the price. Will cut through boxes like butter!
Great Knife 2008-01-23
This is a great knife, the handle is much bigger than the blade itself, but i like that, you get a nice sized blade and keep a nice handle on it, the clip is a great asset being that i am in the army so i can clip it anywhere.
