This is another great Leatherman product. The pocket clip was what I wanted and the blade launcher is outstanding even with gloves on. This is Highly recommended for any tactical operator.

Slick everyday knife

I collect knives and this is a good one for everyday use. It works very good and it takes and holds an edge well. The seration comes in handy for tough cutting.
Great knife from great company

This knife is a good size and very light -- so it is easy to carry. It has all the quality you would expect from Leatherman.
Good and bad
2007-06-17
Pro: A overall good quality, not expensive, fit for everyday use knife. Very easy to close it with one hand. A lot knife can only open with one hand and hard to close with one.
Cons: 1) It is still a little too heavy for a small knife.
2) The pocket clip is designed on wrong side. Everytime I pull out the knife I have to turn it 180 degree to open it. Your thumb should be at the thumb stub. Not the tip side of the knife ! This is the bigest problem to me.
3) It is a one hand opening knife. But it is very hard to fully open the knife with its launcher system. Most of the time I use it to open the knife half way then use the thumb stub to get it fully opened. So it become 2 steps opening. I figured out I can open it fast with one step if I use back of my thumb nail against thumb stub and do a quick release of my thumb like kick the stub open. But that leaves a mark on my nail.
I collect knifes for years and always carry a Spyderco knife with me for last 8 years. Which is very exensive when they hit market(It was $79 then and $45 now) but I like them for their light weight and can be open in a second with a flip of wrist or the large thumb hole. But it has its bad design too which cause me lost 2 of them. I wish I can combine the good part of this Leatherman and Spyderco together.
Very Good Knife

This is a great knife. It is very sharp and the serations help a lot. I am using this in a saltwater enviornment and this is NOT the type of knife to be left in your tacklebox or on your boat. It rusts too easily for that. You need to wash it frequently to fend off the rust. The Blade Launcher system works great. If your looking for a junk knife to stach on your boat, this is not it, but if you are looking for a high quality knife that wont empty your wallet, this is it.
sharp, but too sticky
2008-05-29
Yes, I agree with the other 1 star review. after about 3 days in my pocket this knife was too sticky to open all the way with the launcher, without a little extra wrist flick or thumb action. maybe not a big deal to some people, but i think its no fun. I tried oiling it, and even loosened the screw holding the blade, but nothing fixes it.

I love this knife and I'm glad I bought it. It's a strong knife, not heavy, and opens smoothly. Great knife at a good price!
Amazing Knife

Leatherman....what can I say that is nothing but perfection. This knife has a comfortable handle with clip, as well a even weighted hilt.
As for the blade goes, both a straight blade and an sarrited edge makes for the perfect knife.
But personally the best feature is the flick of a finger to open the blade, not a spring or entire wrist flick to open the blade.
Wonderful knife.....what more can i say.
