Great Product

This is an excellent product, the fact that you can save space on your desk and play music simultaneously just blew me away. I have the Prodikeys DM working with my Windows XP PC and it also works with Reason 3.0 as a midi controller. The SAD news is that it's not compatible with Windows Vista, something everyone should know before purchasing this awesome dual functionality keyboard. I whish I had known, and Creative's response for a windows vista patch were not to keep anyones hopes high. Ultimately this product is fantastic if you have a windows xp pc.

This keyboard is amazing. The concept of the design and combination of two very practical pieces of electronics is just too ingenious to pass up. I'll admit that I possess very little musical ability, but perhaps that is why I am able to enjoy it as much as I do. Creative has a great product here, and for those of you with more musical talent, they have larger keyboards available. The quality of this keyboard is far greater than I expected. I found the midi keyboard to be pressure sensitive, and the PC keyboard to be well structured an comfortable. I'm having a great time with this product and would recommend it to anyone wanting to do the same.

I got this combo keyboard as a Christmas gift for a girlfriend and it turned out far better than we expected. Hardware-wise, it is not realistic to expect the plastic midi keyboard to feel like a grand piano but the build quality of the typing keyboard is exceptionally high. It is very solid and quiet when typing. The bundled software is very impressive. There are only 37 keys on the music keyboard but with the bundled software it can be easily expanded to a 109-key midi keyboard. The USB connection and software setup cannot be any easier and the record of the music playing is also extremely easy to do with the software without any additional setup on sound card. The music can be recorded in both mp3 format and wave format. There are hundreds of timbres you can play around with the software, with many really amusing sound effects. Ideal for geeks who like to write computer games themselves and want to add music and sound effects to the games.
The rich set of the software is way more than just a library of timbres and easy recording. There's a learning mode which works somehow like Karaoke for piano playing. The music score will be showed on the screen, each note will be highlighted as the music plays. Under the music score there is a virtual keyboard and on the keyboard the correct key for the note at a certain time will be showed as pressed. I've never learnt to play piano but following this learning mode I started to play some simple pieces.
There are quite a few other highly interesting features in the software too. And the user interface of the software is excellent too. The features are extremely easy to access and the UI looks clean and elegant.
This is a great toy/tool which really delivers tons of fun to both kids and adults. The software alone deserves twice the price of the whole set. This product is without any question a great bargain and highly recommended to computer geeks, piano/keyboard players, electric music composers (yes you have a million-dollar studio already, but sometimes you might want to go light and this combo keyboard is _the_ choice) and casual consumers who are just seeking fun.

A computer and a musical keyboard in one piece?! Neat.
When I touched the keyboard I had a deception, the keys are very cheap, fragile and light, Ok for 49usd I could not expect any pro keys right ? Right.
So if you are looking a musical keyboard to spend most of your time and execute masterpieces that is not for you.
But if you are looking for a space saver musical MIDI keyboard that is very easy to configure and work good, you found it.
Besides the the cheap touch of the keys, it works very well, all my midi soft synths worked with it, no problem at all.
So it accomplished the mission!

Great Music Tool ! 2007-10-21
There is sheet music that I wanted, but could not find for sale. So, I needed to transcribe the sheet music myself. As a time saver, I needed a tool for tapping out melodic rhythms for melodies; I have found the Prodikeys Pc-midi a great tool for doing this. Also, it has great software for creating cell phone ring-tones. Of course, this keyboard is not meant to be a full-blown synthesizer/musical keyboard. But if you are a casual music composer (or even a serious one), I highly recommend buying this as a creative tool for composing music and/or transcribing your own sheet music library, and/or cell phone ring-tones.
A great fusion, of MIDI and computer keyboard! 2007-10-21
Whoever designed this thing should be given a cookie. This is yet another great example of why Create Labs is the leader in computer sound.....
The fusion of keyboard and MIDI is simply genius. By looking at it, you may think it to be alittle to bulky for typing....But your wrong, its alittle different at first but its easy to get used too. The musical part of the keyboard comes with roughly 128 instrments...Which sound really good on my SB 16 PCI...I tried it on my on-board sound card and it did not really work all that great...So if you are going to get this make sure you have a Creative sound card.

Type or compose on same keyboard 2007-06-26
Works great with Finale. Plug and play first time. No setup other than install the CD. Makes keyboard entry a breeze. It has its own program, but I prefer Finale or Sibelius for composition.
Love the Convenience 2007-05-12
I do a lot of music notation for our church music ministry and have really appreciated the convenience of just lifting off the wrist support cover to access the mini musical keyboard. It saves having to have and store an extra computer peripheral. It is not a full size MIDI keyboard, by any means, but to me the convenience and ease of accessibility were the deciding factors in purchasing this keyboard.
