Exactly what I wanted 2008-04-18
I ordered this product a few weeks ago and it works great. It's powered by the iPod itself and produces a good signal for your car (or home) stereo to receive. It can be challenging (especially in a big metro area like Denver) to find an FM frequency without interference from broadcast stations. I found one, and it generally works well, although there is some minor interference from power lines.

It also works well for receiving FM in the gym I go to. I've had no issues listening to them.

My wife likes it enough that I just ordered a second one for her. It's not a perfect product (hence 4-stars), but it's very functional and comes at a great price.

Great for the car! 2008-03-22
This is exactly what I needed to listen to my iPod in the car. It is easy to connect and doesn't drain the battery. I need to turn my car radio speakers up very high, but that's no problem. When I am on a high bridge, there is a little interference from other stations, but that's no big deal, either. It is much safer than having ear phones in my ears while driving. The radio part is a little tougher to rate highly. The signal must be very strong to get a clear signal. It's great to have both a transmitter and a radio in one device!

Great deal 2008-02-13
What a great value. So far its worked very satisfactorily and at about a quarter of the price of other broadcast IPOD accessories.

Works but has it's own quirks 2008-02-05
The unit does work but it has quirks. The radio works in my office which no other radio seems to do. Of course it has problems all mini radios do in getting weak signals as the antenna is the headphone ccable. The transmitter also works well. It is hard to find open frequencies between NYC and Philadelphia but when found the unit transmits clearly.

Now the issues; the display does not show all crystal digits; they come and go (It started 10 minutes after I started using it. On Transmit it will not search for blank frequencies, or possibly in my area there are none so it never finds one. The operating buttons sometimes do not work, I essentially have to reboot the unit by disconnecting and reconnecting. And if I turn off the power on the iPOD Nano the Kensington unit will not function without a "reboot". But it does work and receives and transmits well.

You can make your own decision whether to buy it. I purchased on sale and it is worth it for me as I use it when traveling.

Bad transmitter, excellente receiver 2008-01-27
I live an a big city with a lot of broadcast radio stations with high power, and my route to go to my work include great electrical plants. For this reason have a lot of interference practically in any part of my transit time. The FM revceiver is excellent, I can hear FM statiosn in my office very well. I f you plan to use like transmitter I don't recommend. I you want to use like FM receiver is perfect.

Very good deal! 2008-01-20
I bought this for my sister as a present, and she was very very pleased with it. She's been through a few others but found that they gave suboptimal results (poor battery life or poor quality) and so she gave up. As I said, she's very pleased with this; no noticeable impact on battery life, clear as a bell over FM, and it works as an FM receiver to boot!

I'm buying two more for my girlfriend and me soon.

Worth it's price 2008-01-15
This product works as advertised. The pro is that if you need your car's AC power for something else (like to power your GPS), or if you want to use it on other radios, it is powered by your iPod. I've had it last 5 hours straight from a fully charged iPod, so it doesn't use too much power.
The one problem it seems to have is occasional mild bursts of static. Well, that and you can't use it with most iPod cases.
All in all though, it's a solid transmitter for its price range, and has some useful features.

FM transmitters are not worth your money! 2008-01-08
Do not buy this product unless you are getting it for $10 or less like I did. It is not worth it as it does not work well at all unless you're in the middle of Iowa.

Inexpensive and works well 2008-01-03
Performs as advertised and is much less expensive than alternatives. Got one for each of my kids.
