Good extension handset

I bought 4 of these to expand a TRU-8866 base we have had in service for 4 years. These handsets work just like the originals. The only trouble was that I had to call tech support to find out that to register each phone on the TRU-8866 base, you need to remove the battery cover since the newer style handset does not quite fit in the cradle. From that point on they work fine, and we now have 7 handsets around the office using this base. Works great!

I was very disappointed to find that the additional handset you recommended,tcx905, was significantly inferior to my system,tru9485. Specifically,it has no phonebook accessibilty.
Great for price, but some range issues

I like the system quite a bit, but there are some issues. The range of the remotes suffers a little depending on where in the house you are. Distance does not seem to be as important as structural elements in the house (ie, works fine in the yard a fair distance from the house, but spotty in my study on the second floor...). The phone system allows up to 10 phones to be connected (great for my use!), but only a max of 2 phones can connect to the same call. My old panasonic system only had 4 phones, but all the phones could talk on the same call (but the panasonic ate batteries and at $20 each to replace was just not economic to use).

the single cordless extension that came with this original base was not giving enough talk time so I bought this one. I have not had low battery sign on both my extensions so I guess it solved my problem. Registering it was simple and quick. Just like my other unit this one does not pick up the name from address book when an incoming call comes, hence 4 *s.
Works Great With My Uniden System 2008-06-04
I purchased these handsets to expand my Uniden home cordless phone network. It took me a couple of tries to figure out how to network the system but all is well. I've been using the original phones for 3 years and the TCX905 for over a year trouble-free.
I have a teenage son who is constantly getting calls so it's great to be able to page him without having to yell into the basement or upstairs....
