I am really happy with this cover. It feels very protective while still leaving the iPod accessible for use. Looks nice too, protects the screen. Works for me!

It does its work, but there's a rubber covering over the menu wheel...I cut that rubber coating and now the design is much improved...

This is probably the best iPod case that I have owned. By far, the most intelligent design is the belt clip itself which features a rather clever plastic locking mechanism that is easy to lock/unlock yet rugged enough to stand up to day-to-day use.
The case itself is made of thick silicone, but with pores on the back of the iPod for heat dissipation. While I can't comment on whether or not the pores actually work to the degree as advertised, I do have to admit that it's a testament to the designers who clearly understand the operational characteristics of the iPod itself; having an iPod overheat is NOT a good thing for the unit and the battery.
The screen protector is probably the best fit that I have ever seen in a case which utilizes a built-in silicone lip on the case itself and uses a raised silicone nub to keep it from sliding around. It's scratch resistant, so I'm hoping that it will have a longer life then the Belkin case that I had which experienced a scratch on day one.
Only 2 minor complaints:
1. The entire case covers the iPod (except for the small pores on the back) including a flap that covers the docking port. The iSkin website advertises that it can fit in the Apple Universal dock. This is true, but I found that it works only if you remove the 5th generation template (in the universal dock) for the 80 GB iPod AND if you tuck the sleeve back into the case. IT STILL WORKS, but I was hoping that it would be a little easier than this.
2. The hold button is completely covered. It is still usable as there is a raised protrusion for using the hold button, but it's a little finicky at first. Once you get the hang of placing the right pressure through the silicone, it's fairly easy to use it from that point forward.
All in all, a good case with some minor issues. I would highly recommend it.
Great case, poor clip & hold button spot 2008-01-04
This is a great case that will keep your ipod protected. For what I'm going to use it for it will be fine (using it at work, in the car, and around the home). If you are a runner or plan on using this clip, look somewhere else. The clip is poor, at best. Flimsy plastic that is thin. I feel that I'm going to break it just by looking at it. My only other complaint is the hold button spot. On the case there is an outline of where the hold button is, but I wasn't able to turn on and off the hold button though the case. I cut my case in order to adapt for that. Even then, it makes turn on and off the hold a bit of a challenge unless you have long fingernails. Getting the Ipod in is easy to me, so I don't know what other people were talking about. Overall I do enjoy the product, but nothing is perfect of course.
Just what I've been looking for 2008-01-01
Most of the iPod cases out there are not very convenient. I carry mine in my pocket and like to reach in and change songs without looking. The ones with the covers are out. This one feels great in your hand, good grip, and very smooth scroll wheel use.
Not very convenient for use with any docks (ie. iHome radio) as you have to take it out of the case. It isn't very easy to remove and put back on. So great protection but inconvenient for docking stations.

Click wheel has no response in case

Once in the case the click wheel has very poor response. How could it, it is completely covered by rubber? It is very strange that there are not more posts regarding this. It seems defective by design.

This is the perfect case for the ipod as having reviewed others in the Official Apple store, they didn't have any that totally covered the whole ipod. The control was always left clear which allowed dirt to enter the rest of the ipod. This case gives you a very secure feeling for your ipod not just against dirt but also bumps.
I ordered through Amazon but it was sold by TechNGnet. The transaction was fast and efficient and even living out in Hawaii, the case was with me in a few days.
