Cheap Price, Amazing Sound, and Looks Great
2008-07-11
What can I say, I had looked all over for a product such as this. I traveled back and fourth to electronic stores, but all where over priced. This product works well out by the pool and the sound is perfect it is not to loud, but it can be loud when you turn it up. It is just an awesome product for the price they are asking for.
broke

I was very happy with this product until it inexplicably stopped working 3 months after the 90 day warranty ran out. It will still beep to wake me up like a conventional (read-irritating) alarm clock, but it no longer plays music from, or charges my ipod. Im really disappointed that the warranty is so short since Id sure like to get my money back.

Love it! We loved the first one so much that we bought another for our son.
Features I was looking for
2008-01-06
I just got this out of the box within the past two hours, and so far I am very happy with it. I had received a HoMedics SS-7000 Sound Spa Sound Machine Clock Radio with iPod Docking Station for Christmas, but I returned it because the display was so bright! I couldn't sleep, even with the "dim" setting. Also, the remote on that product didn't work with my 3rd generation iPod. After many days of hunting, I found this product at OfficeMax (and lucked out: it rung up as $30) and noticed it had the two features I was looking for in a iPod alarm clock: plays and charges 3rd generation iPods and the display dims (to nothing). A surprise plus: the remote controls the 3g.
One weird thing I did notice: Don't touch the screen! I got weird black marks all over it. Luckily, they disappeared after waiting 15 minutes or so. Also, a little disappointed that you can't dictate whether you want to wake up to iPod or buzzer.
As far as other reviews: yeah, the volume doesn't go very low, even when you reduce the iPod volume, but I don't think I'll be using the sleep function all that much. Don't know much about the other problems--hope it doesn't start to die in 90 days like that one reviewer!
Black insert for iPod Nano 4g does not fit
2008-01-04
My plastic insert for the iPod Nano 4g fits on the base but not with the Nano 4g. Someone miscalculated the measurements although I do have the Red Nano...maybe that's the difference. Next, there's a small dent in the right speaker. I'll keep it anyway so I can bring it with me when I travel.

This little gem started to fall apart on me almost exactly as the factory warranty expired. I purchased it thinking I would get a nice little docking station for my bedside table, and save money compared to buying the full-sized model (iHome IH8BR Clock Radio for iPod). My mistake. This unit often causes my iPod to freeze up, one of the speakers has stopped working, and I never know if the alarm will actually play from my iPod or just beep. I have never traveled with it, but I can't imagine it would stand up to much handling. If you're looking for a quality dock for your iPod, keep looking for one that's actually worth its price tag.
Just what I was looking for!

This transaction was flawless...the little iHome works perfectly. Waking up to my choice of music is so much more pleasant than the music my old radio offered. On Amazon, I easily found what I was looking for - at a great price...quick shipment...what more could you ask for?
IHome to go is awesome!
2007-11-26
I read several reviews on iHome-2-go before making a decision to buy it. This item's volume does go plenty loud enough and the light for it has different levels so you can make it dimmer and if you want, shut the light off. The remote control is really nice too, just a push of a button controls many actions for it. I really like it and an thinking about ordering the iHome clock radio too.
Enjoy!
Fun iPod Docking Station
2007-10-24
This is a fun little device - the perfect size with plenty of features. It fits on my nightstand in place of your typical alarm clock, not taking up any extra room. It easily packs up to go on the road with you. It has custom adapters included for every size of docking iPod, as well as a connector for non-docking iPods. Great sound, great control of sleep vs. wake volumes, and a nice dimming feature with 4 settings to it, so that the light of the clock doesn't keep you awake. And if you forget to dock your iPod, the buzzer alarm will still sound (actually it's a beeping alarm).
If you are a heavy sleeper, or like 90 minutes of sleep music in addition to your wake music, I recommend putting your iPod on shuffle all songs before docking it on this station so that you won't get to the end of your playlist and run out of music.
I only have two complaints about the iHome 2 Go travel alarm clock. One is that my clock seems to gain a few minutes every day, so it ends up being very fast. I reset the time once a week. The other is that I have to remove my iSkin to dock my iPod. I was sure when I bought the skin that it said I wouldn't have to remove it to dock the iPod, but because of how the docking works on this station, I do.
