Customer Reviews
They're just great
2008-01-25
I read a lot of reviews on a lot of 2.1, 3.1 and 4.1 systems before going with this T3030 for many reasons, but one being extremely important: I live in Caracas, Venezuela. So there's no turning back, no warranty. I bought these on Dec-13 and got them today (Jan-24) so you get the picture. I'm extremely happy (as a pig in s#1t) with this set of speakers. The sound is just awesome for such a cheap system. I listen to almost everything from brutal death metal to jazz and prog rock, and they haven't let me down yet. I even played a little with my media player's equalizer and tested the system response to each one of the 10 EQ bands I could tweak. I have to say what Travolta said when opening "The Briefcase" in Pulp Fiction: "We happy".
I took a star off because I'm incredibly lazy and the remote could be wireless ... Volume control right on my bed, YEAH! ... Maybe I'll give that star back someday.
I'll be writing again in a month or so to report how the T3030 are behaving.
Subpar System

This is the third system I have bought made by Creative and this is the first time I am dissapointed in their product. In short, it is OK at low levels but should you try to turn it up even just a little, the sound goes out of sync. It becomes painfully boomy and uncontrollable. I had to almost turn off the base using an equalizer. I wouldn't recommend this particular product.

I read a lot of reviews that liked the Creative Inspire T3030.
Amazing speakers for the price.
I didn't go with five stars because my daughter has different speakers that cost a little more (like $20.00) that have a significantly better sound.
great product

Speakers sound better than expected for the price. One plus is the wired volume control, adjusts volume of regular sound and subwoofer.
Creative Inspire Speaker System

I am very pleased with my purchase of this speaker system. I use it for my computer. The ease of increasing or decreasing bass and volume is a plus. The sound is the best I have heard from speakers designed for use with a computer.
Excellent sound, great value

Creative PC Speakers

These speakers are good for the money. Only $29.99 plus shipping. Easy to install. I actually purchased three sets of them and gave two as Christmas presents to my kids. They like them as well.
Pass on these, poor packing for shipping

Ordered 2 sets of these speakers for use in the garage and basement with my MP3 player. Have these speakers at work, so I knew what to expect. Each set of speakers came in separate boxes. The manufacturer's box containing the speakers was packed in a much larger box (with a little craft paper)such that the inside box was very loose and able to rattle around in the outer box. Bottom line, one set worked and one set didn't. Now I need to pack the faulty set up and ship them back in order to get my refund, just because they were so poorly packed (ever go to the post office at this time of the year?). Should have just picked some up at BestBuy or Comp USA. Much less hassle!
Wow! And that's an overstatement

I decided to ignore other reviewers' comments about these speakers missing mid-range and being a "one-note boom box". Besides, I was getting them free with the super-saver shipping and the $30 Amazon VISA credit. So I can't and shouldn't complain since I didn't pay a penny for these. I just needed a set of speakers for my computer since my wife stole the CD bookshelf system I had been using.
When I said "Wow" in the title, I was referring to my amazement that this system comes with midranges that can't even reach below about 400Hz and a sub that can't go above around 150Hz. That's roughly the octave or two starting somewhere around middle C and going down. There's almost no coverage at all in that part of the sound spectrum. It's like each of the satellite speakers has two tweeters.
Now, if you don't understand what it means to be missing out on midrange, it's like listening to music with a terrible need for your ears to pop. In fact, several times, I've caught myself trying to yawn so that they would pop, only to realize quickly that they didn't need it.
I've never considered myself an audiophile, so I didn't expect to be too unimpressed with these, knowing that some reviewers had some misgivings about them. But listening to these makes my spine shrivel and my neck hairs stand on end.
I gave them three stars, however, and that's because if you turn them up loud enough (without turning up the bass too much), you don't notice the missing midrange as much. It's just that you usually don't want to be blasted out of your seat when you get an email or open Quicken.
On the plus side, the sub is actually fairly good for what it is. Now, I've never thought a 5.25" sub could sound good at all, but I'm blasting it right now with some upbeat Enya songs and it actually performs fairly well. It chokes a bit on Bard Dance, but my Home Theater sound system is the only one I've heard that doesn't.
In short, free is a fair price to pay for these.
super sound

The speakers are as advertised. The quality of sound is excellent and a great value for the price.
