The Big Makita Lithium Ion Battery

It's a battery. It has held its charge. It has plenty of stored energy. It hasn't died yet (like two of it's smaller bothers have).
It is evidently pretty high tech. I brought the first smaller version that quit on me to a Makita repair center. The tech plugged it into his diagnostic do-hicky and said, "Gee, you've only had twelve cycles on this".

I really enjoy using the Makita cordless tools. The only one I've run the battery dead in was the jigsaw. I've used the hammer drill off and on for about 2 weeks and didn't need to recharge it.

I have been using the combo kit only occasionaly on weekends and two times a month. The drills work fine as do the flashlight. The circular saw drains the battery after about fifteen minutes of cutting, and then cutting time gets shorter and shorter. Now the battery doesn't want to charge at all. I wouldn't place my faith into what the manufacturer claims about the number of cycles you can charge these lithium batteries.

This is a great battery, from what i've seen so far. I recently used the battery to finish two steel roofing jobs. I was very impressed with the battery life. Only had to charge once per day and we were predrilling the holes for the TEK screws. No problems with shipping. Lot cheaper than the big box stores. Good buy.

I bought this as a backup for my new impact driver. The battery held it's charge through alot of screws - more than my old drill and it's backup battery combined!
This would be a great gift for the 'tool junkie' in anyone's life.

I am a general contractor and have purchased many Makita tools over the years. They include circular saws, belt sanders, and three sets of battery operated tools. I recently purchased the seven tool lithium-ion 18v battery powered portable tool set which includes light, impact driver, drill, sawzall, circular saw, angle grinder, battery charger, and two batteries. Since I plan to use these tools a lot, I purchased three more 18v lithium-ion batteries so that I can keep several tools powered all the time. Makita products are some of the best tools you can buy.
