Produst Ezcllent - Product Delivery Questionable
2008-06-19
Sonicare is great - used a 'spin brush' previously but Sonicare is head & shoulders (or maybe teeth & gums) above. Expect it will be worth the price ... hope it lasts several years (as others indicated is their reviews).
Had a problem (why? - unknown)with initial delivery. UPS said they tried to deliver it but the customer refused delivery - but I DIDN'T ... UPS never came to the house. SO UPS sent it back. It was a b-day gift and a normal reorder wouldn't have gotten to me on time. When I explained the problem and that the initial order was made in plenty of time for 5-9 day delivery, Amazon was very kind and sent another Sonicare Next Day Delivery. EXCELLENT PRODUCT - EXCELLENT SERVICE,
No More Plaque

My teeth feel so smooth now. The 30 second intervals help me brush each quadrant completely. I really do encourage others to buy this product.
Power Seal Breaks (see photo above)
2008-06-05
Works wonderfully in every way, but there is a major design flaw: The rubber seal over the power button breaks, leading to breakdown and allowing water to enter the unit, where it can't be cleaned and bacteria can grow. Mine lasted about one year. I recommend the unit only if the manufacturer fixes this problem.
Major flaw in e9500
2008-05-24
I had an older model Sonicare that lasted years. The newer e9500 seems to last only a few months before the power button seal breaks. This has happened twice. My second unit which was replaced by Philips just developed the same problem as the unit it replaced. Otherwise this would be a very good toothbrush but with this major flaw, I am only giving it two stars. See the photo I uploaded that shows this.
Also, on another note... water gets into the brush head. It builds-up "junk" after awhile. Not pretty.
Good Value

I had an older model (which lasted about 8 years). This toothbrush is lighter, holds a better charge, and feels like it's doing a great job. No complaints and would highly recommend.

Buy the Sonicare FlexCare
2008-07-08
Do yourself a favor and buy the Sonicare FlexCare. The newer FlexCare models are an upgrade without the screw-on design flaw of this Sonicare model. This model has a hideous design where the saliva and other brushing liquids seep down into the inner mechanisms of the hand piece and pool up in a really disgusting way and requires you to take it apart and clean off inner crevices made up of metal and plastic parts. The new design eliminates all that slew of slime. This brushing action is fantastic, just like the new one, but this design stinks...literally.
greatest invention ever
2008-07-03
I was an old school gal, using my manual toothbrush, and thought I was doing a decent job of keeping my teeth healthy. That was of course before I had a friend suggest that I use the Sonic toothbrush. I have only had my toothbrush for a few weeks, and let me say...it is the greatest invention for teeth! My teeth feel so clean and smooth, and I really feel like I get the food of the day out of my teeth. The frist time I used it I had popcorn kernels I had eaten from days ago come out!!! I was amazed! My gums look healthier and I could not be more pleased. I have read the other reviews and was concerned about several issues, such as the fungal growth or battery life. Since I've only had the toothbrush for a few weeks, I can't speak to that. I only hope I will get my money's worth and will be able to keep this brush well maintained for a few years. It's worth every penny in my opinion, since teeth are one of our most valuable assets.
Excellent brush

We have been using the sonicare electric brush for several years, and have much less plaque, etc. The NEW brush that I bought is even better than the old one, which was about 7-8 years old. I highly recommend it.
Product reliability
2008-06-22
During the last six years I have used this product and it does an excellent job, but it's life is rather short for the cost. I am now on unit #4, the prior three failing in the same manner. The rubber seal for the on/off switch fails in approximately 12 - 14 months. Once it fails and water gets inside ... good by battery. I am not sure what the life expectancy should be, but for a system that exceeds $100 I would anticipate a longer life. I still rate it great for it's purpose and will continue to use it, but..........
