NICE TO HANG OUT IN

I BOUGHT THIS TO USE THIS SUMMER IN THE GARAGE AND OUT SIDE. IT IS GREAT WHEN YOU SIT IN IT , VERY COMFY. THE SET UP COULD BE A BIT EASIER BUT I LIKE A ONE TYPE HANGING NOT THREE. BUT OVER ALL IT IS A GREAT BUY.

This is basically the same chair as the other ones on Amazon and elsewhere but the price is right. I've given this as a gift a few times and have heard nothing but good things about it. I think they have it in a few other colors too.

Don't be tricked, this is an inferior most likely far east built knock-off. You get what you pay for.

Hanging Out 2006-05-08
I just recently purchased the air chair and it arrived in 3 days. As soon as I received it I ripped it open and headed for the tree in my back yard. Now I currectly had a childs swing hanging from a chain that I was able to borrow in order to quickly try my new air chair out. Man it didnt disappoint, a quick nap later I awoke and headed to the harware store. Here is how I recommend hanging. You can purchase loose chain, about a foot and a half will do, (you may need more or less depending on the thickness of the branch you are using) purchase enough chain so that there is a little bit of slack when you wrap it around the tree limb. While you are there also purchase a sturdy S hook so that you can bring the 2 ends of the chain together after you loop the chain around the tree. Clip the S hook of the chair (provided) into one of the links of the chain and you are set. The chain and S hook cost less then $3 dollar total and the advantage is that you can easily unclip and take to your favorite tree in the park or wherever you like to "hang out". Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have already enjoyed mine, I enjoy the view of my backyard alot more with my new air chair.
Great product for the price 2008-05-19
I have not hung the chairs yet, but they seem solidly constructed. For the price they cannot be beat.
Nothing like the picture on Amazon 2008-05-01
I'm in the midst or returning the item. It was nothing like what was shown in the picture. Rough-finished 1-inch dowel pieces, poor surface smoothness with a lot of dings and divots, very dark (much darker than in the photo) inconsistent surface finish to the varnish or whatever was used on the dowels. The rope to hang the upper crosspiece (shown disappearing from the top of the picture at about 60 degree angles from the dowel) is so short that it makes more like 10-20 degree angles. Rope is dark polypropylene that's been quickly heated to seal the ends together. Worst of all, the rope joins are done by pulling the rope plies apart in the middle of rope sections and putting other ropes through the holes. Not something a sane person does to load-bearing ropes. A lot of the sections hang 'almost' symmetric and even. But only almost.
Instructions are typical not-made-in-America fare - iffy grammar, nothing on how to hang it properly, how long a rope or ropes to use, how to suspend the foot rest versus the chair. A perusal of the EWINS site shows the same picture and a longer description that's full of horrible typos and grammar.
I'd hoped for the best after seeing chairs like this at the art fair part of the Gilroy Garlic Festival years ago. This one, I unwrapped it and within about 5 minutes knew I'd NEVER trust the safety of someone in my family to hanging from/on it. As a further warning, if you go so far as ordering, pay attention to how it's folded up. There is only one very non-intuitive way to fold the parts back together so that it will fit, just barely, in the shipping box (and even then, it's about 3/4" longer than the box so that you have to distend the ends to tape it shut again.

Got my two hammocks and am STILL trying to put one together!!! I read the previous reviews--I figured if the guy who loved it AFTER he put it together was sharp enough to figure it out without directions, I could. Ha. It looks easy enough, but those knots and ties are aggravating! Maybe I'll change my mind IF I ever get the thing together--meantime--I'm hatin' it. Oh, the red and black coloring is very GA Bulldogs :)
Air chair is a dream! 2007-05-24
I absolutely love this chair! It was very easy to assemble and I have it hanging from a wonderful shade tree outside. The only problem with the chair is it's so comfortable I can't stay awake to enjoy it!
