It works - Couldn't find a way to make it region free 2007-03-05
The DVD player works fine. If I had to buy this player again, I would only buy one that's region-free. It's obvious that if you need a portable DVD player, you may go with it to other "regions" where you may buy or rent DVD's that may not work with this region-1-only player.

Portable DVD player 2007-02-22
Good quality unit; higher in price than some; but you get what you pay for.

This player is really good! 2007-02-15
I have read all the reviews, and there are some facts not being mentioned. I bought this player after having bought an Insignia model from Best Buy. The two don't even come close to comparing.

Here are some of the highlights:

1. The Insignia model would lock up all the time. The LS91 has never locked up.

2. The LS91 allows you to pick a speed up to 1.4X faster and the pitch is maintained to the point you can't tell it is running faster.

3. It plays DVD-RAM. As far as I can tell, this is the only manufacture that includes DVD-RAM. If you have a recorder that can write to DVD-RAM, then you have a very superior method of recording and watching something one time and then erasing. Much easier than DVD-RW.

4. When playing CDs or DVDs with MP3 files, the default method is to split the screen with the subdirectory names on the left side of the screen and the file names on the right side giving you really good navigation ability. If your file names are too long for a half page display, you can simply change it to full display where you only see one subdirectory at a time.

All in all, I couldn't be more pleased with this product. If there was just one more feature I could ask for, it would be the ability to change MP3 play speed like it can do DVD. But then again, I have not found any DVD player that has that feature.

Best player for the price 2007-02-07
I did a lot of research before buying this player for my boyfriend for Christmas. The reviews didn't steer me wrong - this is a great player for the money.

We've taken it on 3 trips already: we've gotten through one movie each time with no problems with the battery, at no sacrifice to picture quality, and with amazing picture and great sound. I find the screen adjustment capabilities to be the most important part - you can adjust this one at any angle you need, and bring it forward over the keyboard a bit, and it's very comfortable and easy to see even in coach with the seat in front of you all the way down.

Panasonic Recorder 2007-01-19
I highly recommend this recorder. I have recorded on it almost continually. It is very user friendly. The hard driver is a must.

Should be recalled - HO3 Error Message 2007-11-07
Months after I purchased the player I recieved the dreaded HO3 error code. I fixed it per Panasonics specifications but got it again after the next play. However, even with the directions I have it won't work at all now. Upon researching this error code; I found that this error is so common - this model should have been recalled - save your money!

Nonfunctional after 1 year 2007-09-11
This DVD player was well used in the ~13 months since purchase until suddenly "Error H03" was displayed on the screen and the player could not read the DVD. After looking into having it repaired, (cost being from $95-160, depending on what was found) we decided to purchase the LS80 ($155) as we had this model before and had no problems for over two years until our toddler son dropped it and it subsequently stopped working. After reading the reviews, I am not alone in having the "Error H03" message and a nonfunctional player after the 12 mo. warranty has expired. Note, there were similar reviews re: the LS82 ($180) model, which we considered as that battery life is 12 hours. Both the LS80 and LS91 have 6 hr battery lives.

Just like the DVD-LS90 and the H03 2007-05-12
We have owned this dvd player for 13 months. We just got the H03 error; right on time according to other reviews. I would recommend looking at other players first or expect to repair this one after about a year.

Great product 2007-05-09
I bought this for my wife for the airplane rides. She loves it. Our 5-year-old friend has used it several times. So, it's easy to use & works as designed. I used it on a recent plane trip and found that the adjustable screen was very useful. The 6 hour battery is great for the long trips. We're glad we bought it!

Good unit but...not region free 2007-03-09
This DVD player is satisfactory: good quality, fair image, good sound, you can plug 2 earphones. However, I would not purchase this product again. And it will be my last Panasonic DVD player. Why? It is almost impossible to dezone Panasonic DVD players. With most other "big names" like Samsung, Pioneer, Sony, Philips, etc. you can very easily dezone your player, the instructions are found on the net. Not for Panasonic. The only way I found is to pay another 30 bucks and a special remote will be sent to you...
