Broke after three months 2008-05-27
Nice DVD player...at first. But after only three months of low-intensity usage, it starting malfunctioning -- skipping, freezing, not turning on, turning off suddenly. I guess you get what you pay for...

Don't do it! 2008-05-03
I searched online for a portable DVD player to take with me on trips to my parents, etc. I selected the Coby TF-DVD7107 player. It seemed affordable and had received some high ratings from others. When I received it I charged the battery and followed instructions. I then tried it out and played a DVD for about 20 minutes. GREAT I was ready for my Christmas trip home. Imagine my surprise when I turned the player on at home and the screen stayed black. The "power on indicator" flashes on and off and that's it. The player was not dropped, not even shaken! I've tried unplugging and waiting, which is the prescribed reset. NOTHING. I'm out about $100.00. It's going in the trash. Service couldn't help. Apparently they really work well or they stink. No in between. Good luck if you purchase one...

Absolutely terrible!!! 2008-04-27
If I could give zero stars I would. This is a piece of junk, broke after the 3rd use. This was after I sent in my first portable DVD to Coby to be repaired. It took 2 months to get it back, and get this they sent me a different DVD player (this one) that was "comparable" even though it was 20.00 cheaper. The first one also broke after one week of use, even though it was a 100.00 purchase. When I asked customer service how they would make it right they said they take their warranty policy very seriously and I was stuck with the comparable unit...oh and you get to pay to ship the broken item back as WELL as pay to ship the "new" item back to you once they've had it for two months. I'm quite convinced they just repackaged someone else's broken unit and pawned it off on me. So I wasted 100.00 on the first DVD player, then another 35.00 on additional shipping charges to end up with another COBY piece of junk that failed me after 3 more uses. I would absolutely NOT buy this product if I were you.

You get what you pay for... 2008-04-03
Bought this DVD player a year ago for $85 at Amazon. Our first portable DVD player (an expensive Panasonic) stopped working after about 3 years of regular use and having water spilled in it by my son. With 2 boys, thought it would be cheaper in the long run to by a cheaper DVD player and replace it after couple of years. Well, didn't expect my cheap Coby DVD player to last only 1 year with very little use!!! The battery stopped keeping the charge - even after charging over night and kept at "off", when I turn the player on, it would signal "low battery". Thinking it was just the battery issue, I plugged it into the outlet and it still didn't work. It would constantly start and stop. I can hear the DVD spinning but all I see is the blue screen. I'm shopping for another portable DVD player. This time, I'll spend little more money to get a more reliable brand.

Not reliable! 2008-07-16
I've never written a reveiw before, but felt I had to about this product. I purchased this Coby DVD player in February. I had no problems with it at all, used it three or four times a week, only at home, always in one place, always gently. Last week I loaded a DVD and a few moments after it began playing, the sound cut off and did not come back. No sound at all -- though everything else is fine. Through Amazon I contacted COBY yesterday and was told there is nothing they can do about it; the product is under warranty for 90 DAYS only. Maybe this is standard on such products, I have no idea. I feel like I've been had and recommend that anyone considering purchasing this item seriously consider the negative reviews about its quality and unreliability on this and other websites.

Excellent Portable DVD Player 2008-07-11
I have received this DVD Player 2 days back, Its picture is superb and the sound quality is also lot better than I thought. I played all my cd's,dvd's, mp3's. Its working great. Only problem I faced is I could not connect the cables of my playstation2 to this dvd player. My Playstation2 is UK model. I think this is causing me the problem. Any one have any ideas regarding this, Please let me know. I thought I could plug in my playstation2 to this DVD Player and play games also. Apart from that, I am enjoying my player.

junk 2008-06-29
We got this dvd player in January and after 3-4 months of light use we began using it daily. It stopped working after 2 days!! It won't read disks and now makes a clicking noise when you put a disk in it. I called tech support and they said there was nothing they could do to help me and I would have to buy a new one. I am NEVER buying this brand again!!!
