The powerful 2250-watt motor tackles tough jobs with ease, and the 5000 RPM (revolutions per minute) speed provides a fast blade spin for smooth cutting action. For greater versatility, this saw is designed with an adjustable depth of cut (0 to 60 millimeters) at 90-degrees to allow cutting of even the thickest of material, and the bevel adjustment moves from 0-to-56-degrees for easy angled cutting. This saw also features a handy rear depth adjustment for even greater convenience and a quick selection of depth. And once you have your depth and angle set, a click of the laser activation button with rubber inserts will offer up a straight line to follow as you make your cuts. The saw also features a spindle lock button that allows for quick and easy blade change, rubber grip front and rear handles for greater control, and a dust extraction facility that ensures a cleaner and safer work environment.

I've only use this occasionally, but the few times that i have, it has worked great! It cuts smoothly and quickly. Also, the laser makes the cuts accurate. The case is also very handy in storage.

I bought this on sale from Amazon, based on the reviews. I have been trying to buy more quality tools lately, like Bosch and DeWalt, etc.... I decided on an "off" brand like GMC for my circular saw because it is not a tool I use much and I could not justify spending big bucks as a result. I have to say that this saw is much more than I expected. It is relatively quiet, very smooth, light for its strength and handles well. I'm not sure I would pay $100 for it, when Porter Cable is close to that in price, but for the $50 or so I paid it is a bargain.

For the price it's a great saw. Feels solid. Cuts fine. The laser is a nice touch.
A Great Find and Buy 2007-07-04
I haven't heard of GMC tools before so I did a little research and found them to be a reputable company from Down Under. Anyhow, I couldn't lose as the saw was less than $50 at the time so I bought it. I am very impressed!! It came in its own nice black plastic case and it is built with integrity using lightweight magnesium, just like professional SLR cameras built for tough use but lightweight. The laser follows the cutting line to the left of the blade. I equipped it with a Marathon 40-tooth blade and it cuts like a pro. I would've bought this saw for more money as it is well worth it. I would not hesitate to buy another GMC product.

I own all the GMC tools and all of them have been purchased from Amazon. Great quality, rudged constuction, superb performance; however all they feel as heavy as their conterparts from other top brands (DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Bosch)even though they are made from some kind of aluminum alloy. So far, I give 4 stars. Durability and dependability will be evaluated from now on.

I have had a lot of saws over the years but I got given one of these for fathers day as my skil had blown up.
I wish I had found out about these years ago this saw is the best I have ever used, its got power with a 15amp motor but its nice and light to carry around as its made of magnesium. I didnt know what that really meant until I got on the net and found out magnesium is a strong metal but also lightweight.
The best part of the saw is the Redeye laser line, I thought these were a gimmick but now I have used it I think its great. I can cut nice and straight and keep my face and hands away from the blade so it feels a lot safer.
Now I am looking aroung the house to see what else I can use it for.
I hadnt heard of GMC before so looked them up on the web and found out that they also own Triton and I have 2 triton routers in the workshop so I will keep buying their products as they have been top of the class.
