Good nailer
2008-01-06
This is a good nailer. It's light to handle, has a belt clip, depth adjustment and is easy to load. No problems so far and I don't expect any with Milwaukee tools.
meets expectations

For finish work, this tool works fine. No problem sinking nails, no jamming or feed problems. Nice weight and balance. Clearly a quality built tool.
not happy

I bought 3-tools only used one did not work very well would not set the nails 1 3/4'' but the gun can shoot larger nails did not even try
I love this nailer!!!

This is by far the greatest value I've found in a finish nailer. Works just as well as my Dad's Paslode, but it's lighter.
Little disappointing
2007-03-15
The ergonomic design and materials quality are excellent, but the execution seems to be a bit off with this tool.
The gun I received had a nail feed pusher that would bind in the middle of the slide, so the plunger would sometimes fire but no fastener would be driven because the pusher had hung up and the strip of fasteners was not pushed under the driver.
Normally the tool would prevent you from firing without at least five fasteners left in the magazine, but this kind of jam fools that mechanism so I had divots in my work piece but no fastener.
The power of drive was also not as I expected, leaving the head of 2" nails about 1/4" above the surface of my hardwood test block and sometimes leaving the head slightly proud of the surface of two stacked 2x4 studs.
Driving through thinner wood into stud material was fine, so don't let my comments above deter you if you may not need to drive long nails into tough material ,this tool has a lot of positive features and it may have just been the one I received that does not feed 100% reliably.
I also have their 18ga brad nailer and love it, no problems at all.
Good, but countersink may be weak.

Can't beat the price (my primary reason for purchase) so I'm generally happy with the gun. Not the best countersinking though. When Shooting 1 1/2 nails through 3/4 maple framing into plywood, I found I have to apply firm pressure against the piece when I fire the gun to get it to countersink at all. Still end up going back over with a punch and hammer to get it deep enough for my linking. But I may be overdoing it. Weekend do-it-youselfer not a pro. I personally like the brand and would purchase more.
Straight Finish Nailer - Light weight , heavy hiter 3/4" to 2 1/2"
2008-06-09
The Milwaukee 7145-21 is a Straight Finish Nailer that is light-weight but a heavy hitter as far as performance. Easy to load and adjust for depth.
Decent case and safety gogles were included. It did not have the coupler fitting though so I had to go pick one up (so I got three just in case the next tool I buy has it missing too) as I needed to use the nailer upon arrival. Keep in mind that if you need to use this in tight spaces (you will if you do Crown or Base Molding) the angled model would be better suited. Not too heavy, good price and I would indeed replace it if it were stolen. I hope that it is as reliable as I expect it will be.
a great Milwaukee nailer

found no flaws with this fine tool
did find some suberb positives ---- quiet, powerful, lightweight, and easy to use
one of the best nailers I have used AND, due to the wide array of usable lengths of 16ga finish nails it has allowed me to replace two guns with this single one
Good value

I paid under $80 for this finish nailer and got a great addition to my box of tools. As a small person, I require all my tools to deliver dependable power without overwhelming bulk. This nailer works fine as long as you keep it loaded. While remodeling a vintage home, it tacked interior floor moulding, secured fascia, and was a real treat to use while installing trim between the siding and eves. The non-mar tip allowed careful placement of the nails without the hassle of hand nailing (over hedges while balancing on a ladder). Even when attached to a 50' air hose, it wasn't too awkward or heavy and hooked easily onto my toolbelt. Wish I'd bought one sooner! Every time another 10'section of 1/4 round went up, my arms and hands were ever so thankful.
Product great as expected from Milwaukee

This nailer has proven all of its claims in its description. It's a finish nailer so it isn't meant for such strong fastening as framing and roofing. I used it for installing moulding in my kitchen and it worked exactly as it should have.
