A great show

I didn't get too into this show when it was actually on the air, but now that I've had time to watch the shows on DVD, I've really fallen in love with it. If you follow the theory that we already have aliens here on earth, then it becomes a little more meaningful. But that aside, the show is hilarious. The acting is top notch, and some of the best I've ever seen on a television show. This crew's talent is really outstanding. One of my all time favorite shows. I suggest you buy all six seasons, as you get addicted to them!

This is a great comedy. John Lithgow was amazing in this series. There's nothing more you can say than it's just hilarious.
Great season! Buy it all and see for yourself.

It may not be as hilarious as the second and first season but it's a must-have. Really! If you're a 3rd Rock fan you just have to have it!
All in all, great season, and a great show (my favourite, personally).
Good shipping time and right product, but bad condition

Well, the shipping was very quick, and the product was definitely what was ordered, but the inside plastic was broken, and that scratched a few of the disks. Not badly, they were still playable, but we had to get little paper cases so that the disks would be save and we could still keep them in the box.
Kind of disappointing, but altogether it wasn't awful.

A science-fiction-themed sitcom 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN looked at the absurdity of human behavior and society from the perspective of a literal outsider. Four alien beings have been transported to Earth in order to more closely study mankind. Landing in the town of Rutherford Ohio each member of the quartet takes on a human appearance forming the "Solomon" family: leader Dick (John Lithgow) sophomoric Harry (French Stewart) man-trapped-in-a-woman's-body Sally (Kristen Johnston) and eldest member (in the form of a teenage boy) Tommy (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). As they set out to examine the habits of the humans around them the team experiences the human emotions of love and loss and encounters many comic misunderstandings from their too-literal readings of human words and actions. Using clever writing and acting rather than gaudy special effects to convey "alien-ness" 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN was one of television's most unusual comedy series. Great show, Not so great DVD 2006-08-30
3rd Rock From the Sun remained a great comedy throughout it's entire run, and the humor has aged very well. In my opinion, this is the funniest show ever on American television. Unfortunately, the "extra" features on the DVD this season add up to about 6 minutes of fluff. At least season 3 gave us a few commentaries, but even then some of the commentary was terrible - I'd have expected more from French Stewart. Even so, this is an easy purchase to recommend, but Anchor Bay would do better releasing these season sets bare bones rather than giving us "extras" that just get worse with each season set.

(It's an inside joke referring to the twilight zone series and movie, so everybody may not "get it".
Amusing reality check 2006-08-05
I enjoyed 3rd Rock when it was on tv and I enjoy it even more on cd.I have no doubt there are other life forms in existence and this series carried that supposition to a very amusing level. In reality I think there are probably "DANGER/STAY OUT" signs posted way out in space around earth, such as you would see around a tiger's cage at a zoo, and when the first atomic bomb went off they moved the signs evern further out. We as humans are strange, and deadly, creatures and the humor in this series brings home many of our quirks in an amusing fashion. To really understand another intelligent life form we first have to be able to understand ourselves. The episode about dreaming is a classic, as is the one about the common cold. This is one of the tv series that would be a natural for a follow up mission to earth by the high commander and his crew.
A must for any 3rd Rock fan! 2006-05-30
This season includes great appreances by Laurie Metcalf and William Shatner. Too funny!
