Editorial Review
Monopoly: Here and Now Edition is a whole new twist on the classic property trading game. Move around the board, collect money, and punish your siblings financially as you have good clean family fun. This updated version includes modern day rents and all-new contemporary game tokens and airports. The 22 new properties salute America's greatest modern destinations from New York City to Honolulu. For the first time ever, Monopoly fans helped design the new board by voting on their favorite landmarks from selected cities.

Good game BUT too long! 2008-01-27
I kind of like the classic version of Monopoly. In the Here and Now edition everything is more pricey but you get more money to start with - this is where I don't like it - You are put in a bad situation because you are handling too many pieces of monopoly money.

The new design of the board is nice and attractive. Also the metal pieces are a plus.

Monopoly is a great game and I love it! only bad thing is it takes a LONG time to finish the game.

Compared to the original version, this version is more colorful, attractive and unlike the plain board of the classic monopoly this one is better in terms of its pictures, and color.
For those who do not own a monopoly: This is a great version to get especially when the price is not significantly higher than the classic. You will love the colors.
OH I almost forgot... the modern attractions/ property is great also! Instead of the old properties (which some do not exist anymore) you get modern places such as Times Square, Fenway Park, and JFK airport.

Fun FUN FUN 2008-01-18
Played this with 3 college age students and had a blast. Like the updated tokens and the realistic dollar amounts! Only problem was it came without ANY MONEY.......had to return and buy at local store to play when we wanted...........OOPS!

I'm Luvin it!! 2008-01-10
I like the new updated version of the game, and I agree with the comments about the money, but in all honesty it is the same as the old game...they are just in thousands and millions now. The money is the same color as the traditional version. 10000 is the dollar...50000 is the five...100000 is the ten...200000 is the twenty.....500000 is the fifty....1mill is the hundred.....5mill is the 500.

My mom has issues with the money too, but she is learning. Actually...you just add like 4 zeros to each property to get it in the Here and Now price.

I really love the game though and my only complaint is that Texas has such cheap properties...What's up with that? Well, at least Houston Beat Dallas...that is a state thing and obviously not important. Anyway, it was fun seeing all the new places, and actually encourages me to visit them....

They really should make a global version though....They may just have issues with what country..city....whatever would take the spot of Boardwalk...that could vary between countries though, if they sell monopoly in other countries...

Great for kids of all ages!

Love it! 2007-12-31
My family just loves this "up to date" game. It's fun dealing with such large amounts of money. Monopoly always seems to know how to put a new twist on an old favorite. We have Disney Monopoly, Eloise Monopoly Junior and the Here and Now edition. Very fun!

A Fun New Version of a Classic 2007-12-30
This new version is a lot of fun, but takes a few plays to get used to. You use large sums of money to buy favorite vacation destinations from across the U.S. The utilities got an update to internet and cell phone providers, and the trains are now airports. It is a fun updated version, but the classic will always be a favorite.

Monopoly Here and now 2008-07-13
This specific monopoly was a good thing to buy for new places on the board and new peices, as for the rules they remain the same, even though the cash has increased it is basicly the same they just added digets which means your playing the old monopoly. As far as the cards go they are changed slightly which is good no one wants to read the same material for more then a decade before it becomes well outdated. As for the rest of the rating, other monopoly games you can purchase cash for (on amazon.com) which is genaric. On Hasbro you can also purchase additional houses, hotels, and replacement tokens. If you are wanting something custom then you cant buy additional replacments which can be a downfall if you have young children.

Don't like it! 2008-04-08
Don't like this because of the property choices. Letting America "chose" is just basically pandering to the mindless masses. And the most populated areas are guaranteed to win.

There are a lot of sports stadiums. Why? You can't build houses in them, I know, I know, you build next to them, but I would rather have bona fide places. I hate these sports stadiums. Worse are natural wonders, who's going to build houses in the middle of nowhere? It would have been best to let a professional game designer design the game. I made a mistake when I bought this on sale, I should have known that it was on sale because it was poor selling.

My second gripe is that the millions of paper money value is confusing. You have inflation, blah, blah, blah, but buying a stadium for a few million bucks? That's not realistic either.

I guess the only saving grace of this is it introduces different American landmarks to a young generation of kids.

My final verdict is that they should redo this and give some proper thought to what properties to include. Times Square, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Silicon Valley, etc. are a few good places to start.

Fun, but no major changes 2008-03-03
First of all, I love Monopoly, although I don't play it anymore because I own the FAR SUPERIOR Monopoly: the Mega Edition. Aside from Mega Monopoly, however, Monopoly Here & Now is my favorite version of the classic property-buying game.

Monopoly Here & Now is the same game as the original. Everything is different, but the game is still the same. Popular properties from all over America have take the place of Boardwalk, St. Charles Place, Illinois Ave., etc., Utilities are now Service Providers, Railroads are now Airports, the Chance/Community Chest cards are different, the tokens have changed, and - this is what people love - you now get million dollar bills in lieu of hundreds, hundred-thousands in lieu of tens, etc. But the game is still the same, despite the modern makeover.

This is a double-edged sword. You're getting what you know with a modern look to it, but I wish that if Parker Bros. are going to make a new version of the game, that they would at least make some major changes.

The cards are essentially the same. Each card was taken, the amount changed proportionally (if there's money involved), the location names, if any, have been changed, and a new picture of Mr. Monopoly has been added. Cards such as those that send you to jail and get you out free have remained the same, plus an added caption telling you why you were incarcerated. Even the buildings are the same. Tax squares make you pay an equivalent amount to the old game, but since we're now dealing with millions, you will either have to pay $750,000 (Credit Card Interest - Luxury Tax was $75; see the similarity?) or $2 million/10% instead of $200/10% on Income Tax.

Still, you can't argue with fun. But if you want something different, try Mega Monopoly.

Mega Monopoly is somewhat the same game, but it has more properties, Bus Tickets, a Speed Die, Skyscrapers, Depots, etc. If you want a different (and WAY better) Monopoly experience, Mega Monopoly is what you want. If you simply want to keep playing classic Monopoly, but with a different look, buy Monopoly Here & Now.

Have fun! I hope you enjoy this product or Mega Monopoly (I prefer the latter, it's much more fun)!

Nice change from the original version... 2008-02-23
I really like this newer version of Monopoly. It moves quickly and is fun. If you like playing Monopoly, you will like this version.

MONOPOLY HERE AND NOW. 2008-02-09
Great fun for the kids to buy properties that they know of and some of them they have actually been too.
Good for counting skills and recognizing the 1 million number. Was enough like the original only updated.
Had such a great time playing forgot about the time.

Dora the Explorer Mr. Face Plush Backpack Dora the Explorer Mr. Face Plush Backpack
Review: My daughter is a big Dora fan and uses this backpack to carry around her favorite toys and books, which is why I gave it 5 stars for educational value. My friend's daughter has it as well, and love hers too. We've had it 6 months now and it's holding up just fine. The map opens up for an added bonus. My daughter likes to wear it and sing the backpack song from the show.
Star Wars Episode III: Darth Vader Voice Changer Helmet Star Wars Episode III: Darth Vader Voice Changer Helmet
Wow, do I ever wish they had this out when I was a kid! I bought it, and my wife, kids and I have all been playing with it. It has a chest box with several buttons that plays about 5 of Darth's quotes from the movies, or you can switch it to voice changer. The voice changer is fun! It has 3 different levels of depth for changing the voice. ... A must for Star Wars Geeks!!!!
