Simple operation on this gps device with only 1 button. About the size of a small fliptop cell phone. Comes with a standard charger and a car charger (bonus star rating for that). I wish I could tell if its actually working while I score my zone. ***Warning***this device annoyingly shuts off every ten minutes. Having to constantly check if its on. I wanted to wear it around my neck but the space to slip a neckchain through is so small I haven't been able to find anything that fits. So, as I walk I have to carry it in my hand to see it is functioning. Lame.

I have test other type of B.T GPS antenna and hade some problem with communication and identify by my PDA. after reading information on the NET i found that the GlobalSat BT383 is a perfect and improved one.
On the 22 of March 2008 i ordered this B.T GPS reciver. The oreder was shipped and arrived to the address on the exact time as defined. The GPS B.T antenna recognised by my PDA in a seconde and since then work perfectly good. It is my Best recomendation for a B.T GPS reciver!!!

It works pretty well and it is fast compared to other GPS devices. I tried it with my P990I PDA. Didn't have the feeling that I need a specialized navi system!
Bluetooth GPS
2008-04-07
Good product. It picks-up new coordinates at fairly small intervals. Some of our users have reported a few occasions when they lost the signal from the satellite at locations you would not think would be obstructed (I am not sure if this was the hardware, Bluetooth connection, software they were using, or the location that caused the signal to drop).
Works Great While It Works

PRO: Lightweight receiver-only connecting via bluetooth to anything. Great SirfIII picks up multiple birds. Fast warm, fairly fast cold. Accuracy good for driving purposes. Good battery life and can buy multiple batteries for walking use. Limited diagnostic software available from manufacturer for 32-bit and 64-bit Vista.
Cons: Where to start? I use the BT338 (Black model) with a laptop and also Dell Axim x50v running Windows Mobile 5. Both connect via bluetooth. I use iGuidance, ESRI ARCPad, ESRI ARCInfo, and the manufacturer's own GPSInfo test software. I have re-paired the bluetooth connection on both the laptop and handheld and they pair with the BT338 and assign a COM port with a serial connection as required for the BT338. It no longer works. The GPS side has died. I have removed the battery for over twelve hours as customer support recommends to "reset the ROM." Google the read forums on this device and see what people are experiencing as they troubleshoot the same problems between themselves and the company in Taiwan that makes it.
Bottom line: I use this device with different hardware platforms and different software and the GPS, not bluetooth, side of the BT338 has reliability issues. Don't buy it!
Globalsat BT338

Globalsat BT-338 contains a built-in SiRFIII Low Power Chipset for high sensitivity. It communicates with Host Platform (PDA, Laptop, and etc.) via Bluetooth Serial Port Profile. It also contains a replaceable battery with a large capacity (1700mAh), which enables BT-338 to run up to 17 hours. A slide battery lid makes it easy for battery removal. With the petite and sophisticated design, it would definitely be your best choice!PRODUCT FEATURES:SiRF Star III high performance and low power consumption chipset;Communication with Host platform Via Bluetooth Serial Port Profile;Built-in ceramic patch antenna;Superior sensitivity for urban canyon and foliage environment;3 LED to show the rechargeable Li-ion battery;Operation time: 17 hours, in continuous mode;Bluetooth operation range: 10 Meter;WAAS ENGOS is supported.
this stuff proved what others said

I bought this stuff in "automatic pilot mode", blindly trusting on other customer reviews and number of stars. I confess it was a difficult choice since the market has a myriad of options. I compared with other options with nice designs and others with interesting "techie" speech. This one seems to be the BEST product, since it accomplishes what a customer expects despite of all other techie promise: it's VERY fast in reaching sattelites, it's SMALL, PORTABLE, NICE LOOKING, OUTSTANDING BATTERY LIFE, EASY TO USE, PHANTASTIC BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY, and comes with a practical car recharger.
I bought from Brazil and have never heard about this brand yet in my life. Now I know this is a strong product that really worths the investment. I recommend this product to others and better, I recommend buying this separate bluetooth stuff that connects not only with your smartphone but also with other bluetooth notebooks that can run much better windows-based software for full 15-inch screen (to use inside your boats for example), with many other 3D mapping features.
Thanks for the other reviewers for helping me buy the best choice.
I'm traveling to Hawaii and taking this stuff with me in my backpack. I just downloaded Oahu and Kilauea maps, it's really phantastic...this will drive me to the points with no trouble.

Solid performance, small package

I use this with both a Blackberry phone and a laptop, and have been very happy with it's fast acquisition time, long battery life and great ability to stay locked on even in heavy tree cover and in urban canyons. Did I mention that it's tiny? I just throw it in my briefcase and always have it handy.
super accurate, fast lock time

Works great. Lock time is fabulous even indoors (12" thick brick walls with plaster), accuracy is routinely around 2 meters.
