Sound spa

Love the sound spa and did not want the one with the projecting clock on it. I interchange the different sounds. I like to fall asleep to the waterfall.I found out about this product when I went to the massotherapist. She used it-the bacground cricket sound one time and tropical forest another time. It was very relaxaing. Well worth the money. I use it everyday. It is also helpful when I am reading and want background sounds.
Great noise effects, but it has a glitch.

We are on our fourth Homedics noise machine. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment. We have one in each of our kids' rooms, and they provide excellent noise to drown out the house noise, and the noise choices are wonderful. It's also easy to operate, but both of our initial models failed, and in the exact same way. The knob "shorts out" eventually and the noise cuts out and goes on and off sporadically. One shorted out after about a year of use, and the other after about six months.

This is a great machine. I use it in our babies room to drown out the sound of him crying so my 2 year old doesn't wake! It is small and a perfect size for a babies room...we use the waterfall noise as a white noise. The unit is not particularly loud as it is quite small but it's loud enough for what I need it for. Would buy again!

Through trial and error we discovered that my son sleeps best when there is white noise playing in his room. We originally used a radio set to static but we live a few miles from a flight line and would often get interference from the radio tower / air traffic so we set out to find an alternative. My friend recommended the Homedics Sound Spa SS-2000 and we have been satisfied from Day 1. We use the "waterfall" option because it is more "white noise" than any of the other options and it's done the trick. Since we don't really use the other sounds I can't speak on the complaints about the "obvious loop" but I think that the sounds are very realistic - minus the heartbeat...it's a little wacky to me.

I bought this product because the HoMedics model I wanted has been discontinued. The HoMedics SS-2000 Sound Spa broke about 5 weeks after I began using it. Amazon did a great job of sending me a new product with no hassle. The added effects of seagulls on the ocean setting is more annoying than relaxing. My advice, go to a store and try it out the sounds before buying it. If you like the sound settings come back to Amazon and buy here.

Good product, great value 2008-07-28
We've used the product for five nights with excellent results. It functions perfectly. We use the AC plug and keep it on a table near the bed. However the ocean waves crashing are too loud and too frequent.
The only true "white noise" settings we end up using are: RAIN, NIGHT, and WATERFALL. The others are either too loud or too disruptive to help us sleep. Very nice product, very good value. And I agree wholeheartedly with the reviewer who wrote that it's better than a trip to the pharmacy.
