I love my new TV

After much research I ordered this TV from Amazon (who also had the best pricing). It is highly rated for good reason. the picture quality is great. I also upgraded my Direct TV for the HD and am very pleased with the results. A side benefit which was not a part of my research is that it includes the ability to view my digital photos from my camera card. I love that and so do the grandchildren. In sum, the TV is terrific and the Amazon order and delivery system worked great as well. It was delivered and set up even faster than the order indicated it would be. Highly recommend
Better Than New!!! Best Buy EVER!!! 2007-07-31
This plasma 50" TV, which was bought for our bedroom, arrived in PERFECT condition--no blemishes/scratches/scrapes--nothing...it was boxed to perfection. After hooking up the HD-DVD player and HD digital satellite receiver (Direct TV), and changing the settings appropriately, the clarity was phenomenal. We have had this television for a little less than a month now, and couldn't be more satisfied. More than worth the money, and/or any extra effort you may have to put forth towards it. You can't find another 50" Plasma out there (with this quality and condition) for under $2,000, much less the $1,300 I paid. The only problem you may have will be with Wharehouse Deals, but believe me, it will all be worth it in the end. The only (small) problem we had with them is that they did not give the delivery company our phone number for directions and verifications of a date and time--I had to call the delivery company myself, but they were very courteous and helpful--eager to please. As I said in the title of this review--"BEST BUY EVERY".

In short this product is the worst as far as reliability. If you want a TV that will brake on you in a matter of days this is the on for you, and as you sit and wait for Panasonic to make the situation right (which by the way could take 2 months) this is the product for you. I beg of you do not buy this item. It was made in Mexico, and of poor quality parts. 2 months I tell you, two months I waited to get it fixed and when it was fixed 2 hours later it broke again. Let us count the LED blinks.

This is the most common problem with this product, the board blows out, and if you call Panasonic customer service you need to know the number of blinks so that they bring the right part. I say again if you like headaches this is the product for you.
THE TV WAS PERFECT BUT SERVICE SO SO 2007-07-08
I was buy this beaty from WAREHAOUSE DEAL, i didn't receive any email with UPS or any guide for the follow, ITS TO BAD.
After the tv arrive and upckage, install direct tv plug was amazing the image and everthing else WAS MORE THAN PERFECT.
I buy a refurbished and the description say OUTTER BOX MINNOR DAMAGE, didn't mistake. NOT ANY DAMAGE ON TV.
i'm so happy full recomendation.
Fantastic And Affordable HUGE Television 2007-07-06
I am very impressed with this Plasma TV. I bought mine at Costco and was a little wishy washy about which direction I should go between LCD & Plasma. Buying the Plasma TV was an excellent choice. I picked it up for around $[...] after instant rebates. Setup was extremely easy. When I first plugged my cable box into the TV I was disappointed with the picture. Then I found out I needed an HD box and had to tune to special HD channels (located in the 700 range on my cable providers box). Once this part of the puzzle was figured out I havent had any issues since. The stock remote is very easy to use, responsive and functional. I also hooked up a Tivo (Standard definition but great quality anyway) & a DVD player. I don't even want to go to the movies anymore after getting this set.
I highly reccomend this unit to the TV buyer who wants a big fancy TV but doesn't want to take out a second mortgage on their house to get it!
**UPDATE 9/5/07*** - I was watching this TV 65 days after I purchased it and the set shut off and would not go back on. At that point I could not get the TV to go back on no matter what I did. I did some research and learned this is a known panasonic plasma problem. Luckily I returned the TV to costco right under their 90 day return policy for a full refund. As much as I loved this TV I would now hesitate to recommend it to others.
Stunning 2008-06-16
I have other plasmas, but this is the best picture I've seen. Excellent value. If you spend twice as much you can probably get a 1080p that has a better picture, but that will only have value with bluray because cable and satellite won't give you enough resolution now to push this TV.

I bought it. We love it. You buy it. You will have one fantastic TV!

Let me add one thing about Amazon. I purchased this through Amazon and it was my first big ticket purchase through them (obviously higher priced than today). I saved roughly $500.00 buying through Amazon. I paid no sales tax, where I would have paid 7% in Florida. I also saved an additional chunk of money as it was priced lower than Best Buy et al. I was pleased by the entire transaction, and Amazon even credited me $100.00 as the priced dropped soon after I ordered it. I was very impressed with Amazon, have since purchased some smaller items from them, and will be purchasing soon some high end Canon camera and lenses through Amazon. This Panasonic Plasma has a great quality picture. I do not see how any brand can have a better picture than this. I was torn between Pioneer and Panasonic, but now so pleased I chose this brand and model.
Near Perfection

I've now owned this tv for 14 months and have found it near perfect in every regard. The only "let down," is that non-HD shows are not as good as they were on my non-HD tv. That said,I would not go back to my non-HD tv for any price.
As mentioned by other reviewers here, the sports broadcast are particularly outstanding. Numerous visitors to my house have been blown away by the 50" broadcast of college and NFL football games ... they're simply incredible to behold. I've simply not seen any other HD tv with a picture as rich and sharp as this Panasonic. I've heard the latest versions, with super black color capability, present a better picture, but their cost is 6-7 times what people are paying for this 50" plasma ... and that speaks volumes about this Panasonic jewel.
A great HDTV 2007-11-27
I bought this TV in January 2007 and I love it. The picture is phenomenal. A friend of mine bought the smaller version of this set and loves it too.
At this point in time (late Nov 2007), though, the newer models are out and so this one is likely outdated or will be discontinued soon. But if you can get one for a solid discount off the new models (say $1500?) you wouldn't be unhappy.
And as many others have written, set the Picture Mode to something other than Vivid for a more natural, pleasing view.

We purchased this TV Jan 1, 2007 from here on Amazon. The price was great! We purchased the wall mount at the same time and got both with a combined total, with shipping, that was less than that of any store around us. I looked for months and researched A LOT before purchasing this TV. We finally narrowed it down to about 3 different ones and then went to different stores to see the televisions playing. I did more research and then decided on this model.
We have NO complaints. The picture is perfect. The colors are absolutely amazing. Whether watching through HD satellite, DVD's, Playstation, and just normal mode, the quality stays the same.
There has not been a person that has come into our house that is not aw struck when they see it hanging on the wall. We have superbowl parties at our house every year. The football games are awesome. There are still many channels that are not HD or shows not broadcast in HD and the quality is still exceptional. We watch a lot of sports and they all look really good if not great!
Along with our surround sound system this tv makes for jealous comments and conversation. We would not change our minds or discourage anyone from this choice. We love it!
