Editorial Review
These reusable, silicone sleeves form a tighter seal than flex sleeves while holding the earphones firmly in place. The sleeve tube or flange can be trimmed for customization and greater comfort.

Very good, but 2008-02-22
I too, find thy are much more comfortable if modded. I use a razor blade I cut off about half of the stem from one end and the smallest flange from the other.

Absolutely Excellent - 2007-11-14
I did not realize when I bought these that there were three pair in the package (as well as the earwax removal tool). I've been seeing how much sound these block in my "average" ears. So far, I've found it to be a lot. With music on at a mid-volume, I can't hear myself clap directly in front of my face. It's like a new pair of headphones.

I got the Shure E3's a little over a month and a half ago, and I haven't been satisfied. One ear came with a Large sized silicon fitting, and one was Medium. The large was too big for my ears (in fact, it kept coming off of the actual earphone and staying embedded in my ear, that's how tight it was!), and the medium was about right. These blow them out of the water. It's like a new pair of headphones.

If you have Shure E3s, I recommend at least trying them. Sure, they go deep into your ears, but they're triple-flange. That means there's basically 3x the sound isolation of the ones Shure includes. I figured they'd be worth it at $9 a pair, but at a third of that they're a steal.

Guide for those that don't like them 2007-10-26
When I first tried these I hated them. I had been using the gray and foam ones for over a year before getting these. I couldn't get these to seal my ears which resulted in terrible base.

On the advice of another review I put a little bit of water into my ears which allowed them to slide better into the ears.

You need to try a different angle than with the other pairs of sleeves. They go in deeper and thus need a sharper angle. I wasn't able to get them to go in until after I used the water.

I also trimmed the excess off of the long stems which made the profile smaller and brought the speakers closer to my ear drums.

Hope this helps!

You can cut them 2007-09-21
these were way too long for my ears - but like the instructions say they can be cut - I lopped off the smallest flange at the tip and a bit off the back and they fit PERFECT. Easily done with a pair of scissors. give that a shot if you think they don't fit right.

Takes Some Getting Used to... 2007-08-07
I can't stand shoving these things into my ears but my Shure E3s sound MUCH better than the regular earbuds and it's more convenient than the big bulky headphones. As for these sleeves, to me, they are more comfortable than the ones that come with the product, but I can't say that it'll be the same for everyone. Also, a dab of water in each ear helps them slide in more easily.

Work Great for Etymotic ER-4 Too! 2008-07-10
I've got Etymotic ER-4 headphones -- which sound great, by the way -- and these sleeves fit perfectly. Even better, they give just a little more space between your eardrum and the speaker. This allows a slight expansion of the stereo field, which I'm enjoying immensely.

Excellent Enhancement to User Experience 2008-06-25
I fly and ride motorcyles long distances. In both cases I need headphones that are compact, and truly block noise. The addition of these flange sleeves make the Sure headphones perfect in this regard.

These buds are great 2008-05-09
I purchased the SE210 and over a few weeks, I tried all the tips and all the sizes. I kept having problems getting a good seal, and the tips would work lose as I hit the gym. Then I tried these tiple flange.

At first, they felt funny and when I pushed them in, the flanges would would sort of flip over and essentially block all sound. I was getting frustrated thinking the SE210 was not as good a bud as the E2C. When I first looked in the mirrow, they seemed to stick far out of the ear.

Then I read a review that helped me.

Since the flange was sticking out of the ear so far, I clipped off the third flange. That helped a lot. Then I read another article about getting each tip wet before inserting. (a little saliva will work fine) I next wet each tip before inserting, and each bud slid right in. No need to pull on the ear or any other odd trick. Once you get the flange bud in and drape wire behind the ear, the seal is great and the sound is excellent.

I just returned from a long flight on a small jet carrier and I had the buds in from take off to landing. The engine roar was totally blocked and I had no problems getting excellent bass from jazz or rock music.

I think users that state they have a problem just don't take the time to properly insert or prepare these tips. They might create a little soreness in the ear, but I cannot imagine a better bud or tip. I just wish these fit my E2C.

If you have any Shure buds these tips will fit, I think these flange tips will end up as your preference. They don't deteriorate as the foam ones do. They are softer than the silicon tips, and they won't fall out of the ear as the rubber tips tend to do when you perspire.

Shure, there are better tips out there... 2008-03-28
These are good for working out. I do not think they sound as good as the grey tips. If you want tips that will stay in your ear (they hurt my ears after prolonged wearing) and isolate outside noise then buy these. Otherwise, get the grey silicone tips or shure foam replacement tips.

Good option for E3c. 2008-03-24
The small size fits my ear perfectly. I wanted a second set for the E3c earphones that I purchased.
