Bell Cocoon Rack Mounted Bicycle Child Carrier
we purchased this child seat for my bicycle so I could take my daughter out and ride. we had a slight difficulty as the seat did not fit the bike. My husband managed to do some adjustments with parts we had around the garage. It now fits. A friend who also bought the same seat had the same problem and ended up bending the support for the seat to make it work. The harness system is not designed well and my 22 month old daughter can wiggle out of it no matter how tight I make it. just poor design. Again I managed to use a harness system from an old stroller and we use the seat now. Overall we love Bells products and hope to continue to buy them.

This child Carrie is easy to put on your bike all ways make as many a just men with it when you have you kid on the Carrier but I use all time now when I go bike riding with my kid every day.
nice little toddler seat. 2008-05-25
My grandson is not quiet one but he holds on and laughs the entire time he is riding behind his mother. He makes all sorts of "baby" sounds as he bounces along. Great bike seat for little ones.

I'd like to thank Amazon for the great service. Originally The product was promised to be delivered in 6-8 weeks time.
I then recieved an email telling me that it shipped about 4 weeks earlier than expected! When I recieved the product it was in exellent condition
and with the easy-to-use instructions, I had it mounted on my bike in about 1/2 an hour.My son is enjoying riding around and seeing everything
from the Bell carrier. Thanks Amazon!
Good and robust products

I purchased this Bell Cocoon from Walmart. It actually took me a while to figure out the manual, then 2.5 hr to install everything. My plan is to install it on my wife's 24" mountain bike, however, it does not fix, so I installed it on my 26" mountain bike instead (I purchased a Copilot for that 24" bike.)
Overall, I do like Bell's design, it is robust since it provide several points to secured to the bike, and once it is secured, it just don't move. For my other Copilot seat, there are only 4 points to secured with bike, plus one belt to fasten to seat pole. It seems not a good design to me. However, Copilot does provide me an advantage that I can remove car seat easily which Bell does not.
I suggest Bell can write its manual more friendly. Or, at least, assembly the rack in factory, then customers just secure it to bike. That is why I just give it 4start, not 5.

The Cocoon by Bell offers the best in protection and comfort with quick and easy removal in seconds for solo rides. Your child will ride comfortable and secure thanks to a five-point harness, thicker seat pad and adjustable foot rests that allow the seat "to grow" as your child gets older. Fits most 26 and 27 inch bikes. Safely carries one child up to 40 lbs.
Solid, but a caution... 2008-05-12
This is my first child carrier, so I don't have much in the way of standards for comparison. That said, so far I'm quite happy with the Cocoon. Assembly instructions were straightforward and well-illustrated, and took me just under two hours. I'm confident I have the unit on correctly, and it is very stable on my bike. The seat itself can be quickly attached or detached from the rack so I don't have to take the seat with me every time I ride. Most important, my daughter is safe and comfortable back there, and we both feel confident.
The caution: I have a Klein Quantum racing bike with slightly oversized aluminum tubes. The rack mountings are designed for (narrow) steel frame bikes, and also intended for hybrids or mountain bike style bikes. With the hardware the rack came with, I was just shy of being able to mount it on my bike. I went to Home Depot and bought four 3/16 X 2 bolts (and accompanying nuts) which are just slightly longer than the bolts included with the unit and made a successful installation on my racing bike. My daughter is the fastest three-year old on the bike path!
Best for your dollar! 2008-05-11
Looking for a child carrier for my children, I came across this one. Bought it and loved it. Solid construction and easy to assemble. Even comes with the bike rack that the seat sits on. Other brands you have to buy it seperatelt. You will read reviews about how there are better ones to buy......but in this case (for the money) this is the best one you can buy. You will be happy as I am.
Good seat with adequate safety guards 2008-05-09
Purchased this for my 1-year old, so I wanted a little bit more safety railing/guards than some of the other carrier seats provide.
The seat was reasonably easy to install and has functioned very well ever since.
Pretty Good for the Money 2008-05-05
Installed the product last week and have taken bike rides withs my 17 month old (23 lbs) and 3 year old (31 lbs). Both liked it. Neither complained that it was uncomfortable. The seat does attach and detach very quickly. While I will agree that the higher parts of plastic are flimsy, I suspect it helps with the shock absorption. Have not read a review claiming the seat broke or snapped as some of the negative reviews seem to be concerned with.
