Customer Reviews
what kind of card is this?
2008-03-06
The detailed product description says type M. The product photo and brief description looks like type H. Other fuji cards listed on amazon say high-speed but not explicitly type H. Some reviews for other "type H" cards state that you're actually purchasing a type M card. I'm hesitant to purchase any xD card from one of amazons 3rd party retailers. What kind of card is this?
a good one

well commenting on its performance is not necessary as every flash ram has an integrated circuit inside it and it will perform exactly as it says. other than that if you can get a xd picture card of 1gb for 20-25 $ then i should say its a good deal.
there are 2 kinds of xd cards the m-type and h -type . purchase the h-type as they are superior t the m-type ones.
Lots and lots of pics for cheap $

The card pops right into my Olympus camera. I'm amazed at the number of pics (1400) I can get on this thing at a pretty high quality setting. Fast delivery too.
1GBxd card

Works great, if it was any smaller, I'd need glasses. Don't forget to re-format it occasionally or spots will begin to develop on pictures.
Pretty standard!

It's a pretty standard product, I've had no problems with it. Wish it came with an extra case for the card though.
Somewhat disappointed

I bought this 1G card thinking I could take short videos with my digital camera, got the H version thinking it would store the video faster than the current M versions that I have. The few videos that I have tried to get with this H card have not turned out well at all, I can't get the sound and the video to synch, the sound is lagging behind the video, which it doesn't do with the 512Mb M card that I have.

Nice, but wears the batteries out quicker
2008-04-04
CAPACITY: It's nice to not have to swap cards out as often on our (now-way-out-dated 2 y.o. 5mp) camera. It does hold a lot of pictures, even at the finest settings.
POWER HOG: But it seems to make the camera work harder ... thus wearing the batteries out sooner. (Gotta switch to rechargables.)
ISSUES: Also, oddly enough, when we started using this card, the camera now freezes up occasionally. Either as it's sending the lens out, thus unable to focus until the camera is turned off and back on again (if you can), or it just plain freezes all processes. It takes a minute before we can power it off, sometimes only by dis-/reconnecting the batteries.
Works great

This is a Type H card - I just recieved it (3-20-2008 - FujiFilm branded as shown on Amazon). It works great (put in my camera, formatted and it works just fine). Something to note, the manufacturers have moved to making/selling the Type M card (dropping Type H), however the Type H is much faster (read/write speeds). Its probably cheaper to produce the Type M...as no explanation of why the change took place was ever given. So if you want the fastest Xd card you can get, get this Type H card, while they're still around (you'll notice you can't get Olympus 1GB Type H's anymore...and who knows how long these Fuji's will be around).
As a memory type, the Xd card format is a slower card, if you have a camera that takes another kind of memory card in addition to the Xd (like an Olympus DSLR that takes CF too) you can bet the other card type will be faster at saving and transferring those pics you just took. However most of us are stuck with Xd and only Xd for our particular camera, and in that case this Type H is the way to go while you can still get them.
Great buy!

I purchased this item for my Fuji fine pix A400. I love my camera. Now I can take many more perfect pics and videos at gatherings, etc. I just remove it from the camera, pop it in to my picture maker and print perfect pics out! Very good picture card at a great price!
