Great Price but ...

3 weeks after i received the item, it stopped working. everything worked fine until one morning we put it on to watch a movie and the drawer wont open and their was a terrible humming sound. the Radio was working but not the disc changer....we couldnt even get the other discs we had in it out! I live in the caribbean, and it is not worth the cost to send it back up to the manufacturer and have it re-shipped to me....it might be better to purchase a new home theatre system of a different brand !

The sound is certainly ok for our main living room - the only drawback is that the dvd drive is not region free and no hacks seem to be available for it.

I had been looking for a DVD changer, and wasn't even in the market for a home theater of any kind. However, I came upon the RTD206 one day at Target on the clearance shelf. I had to double-check the price though, because I didn't think at first it said $64.98. After a couple of checks to make sure, indeed it was. Two days later I had bought this, and so far I'm not regretting it.
Since I installed this in a bedroom, I wasn't asking for much, so I got exactly what I wanted, a no fuss and no muss sound system to pass through cable DVR, along with a good quality AM-FM radio which has good reception with the included antennae. The video quality on RCA video is pretty good, although I do plan to expand the system further by utilizing the component video within an A/V splitter so I can use my iPod and PS2 with the system also with audio. Changing DVDs is good, and I need nothing fancy soundwise, so this definitely exceeded my expectations, Although not as nice for a complicated setup, this maks a perfect system in a box for a small room or apartment, though you may want to buy extra speaker cable to extend the system's reach.

This is a 5 disc DVD player that comes with surround sound speakers...for $99, what else could you ask for? The quality of the product is also pretty good even though it is under $100. I couldn't be happier!
An amazing little system for the price! 2007-06-11
I bought this system to be the sound component for a smaller room projection TV set up. The sound is MORE than adequate, in fact great in this size room. Do be warned that it is not wired for easy hookup to cable, you need to a little creative wiring. It is only set up for the included DVD, radio and MP3 abilities included, NOT outside cable or satellite. As others have said it is a breeze to set up. Also as others have said the provided speaker wiring is not adequate. Well, there is plenty for the rear speakers, but only about 6 feet provided for the front speakers. I had to splice and add to fix. Also, do NOT stack this unit on top or close to other components as it will go into "shut down" mode. Leave at least the 4" recommeneded space around all sides. Other than these easily fixable problems, this is a GREAT sounding little system. For the money you cannot find better than this.

NOT MUCH DEPTH ACROSS ALL THE RANGE BUT IT IS INEXPENSIVE. THE SONY SYSTEMS HAVE MORE POWER FOR A HUNDRED MORE BUT NO DVD PLAYER, I OWN BOTH.
GREAT 4 THE MONEY 2007-04-19
I recently bought this product and I LOVED IT. I have a moderate sized room and this this blows it away. The soung quality is great. The Bass is great. I love watching movies with the volume all the way up. This thing is loud and clear so i get to enjoy my movies.:)
The down sides, the volume only goes up to 40, but if your using it in a bedrooom that loud enough trust me.
Its not really ment for a big living space so if you want that youll need one with more watts
FOR THE PRICE YOU CANT LOOSE. I LOVE IT Plus it hold 5 cds, that great. I blast it almost every day:) Clear just the right amount of BAss
Great Sound Quality for Smaller Rooms 2007-04-03
At first I set this up in the living room for a short time. It wasn't as loud at times as would have liked it to be but it still sounded good. However, when I moved it to my bedroom (which is smaller of course) the sound really came out! The bass is rich and, for a system without graphic eaqulizers, the sound is really good. It is color cordinated very well, which makes it incredibly simple to set up, and the remote controll is simple to use as well. I'm very pleased with this purchase and would hope others will feel the same. But remember that it sounds better in smaller rooms.
A great buy 2007-04-02
We couldn't be more pleased with this system. I set this up in a small room, so it is perfect. We watched "Flags of our Fathers" last night and I had the urge to duck as the bullets were flying around the room. If you have a small room and don't want to spend a lot of money, get this, it's great!
