Dang Battery Switch... 2007-09-23
There's a lot of opportunities I've taken to use this, from proposing to my fiancee (arranging your favorite song for the middle of nowhere is kinda difficult) to playing inspirational music prior to flying a mission. The price and size are excellent, and the volume output is worthy. My only qualm is that the battery does tend to drain when not using it - though this might be to the uncanny nature of the power switch moving to "on" in my flight bag. Absolutely worth it though.

Not worth the money at all 2007-09-13
It's indeed very portable and super light in weight even when including the 1 AA batrery. But I totally agree with one of the above reviewers regarding the volume. "The sound is small like mosquito" as what we would say in the Chinese language. And the quality of the sound is very poor, too. With same amount of the money, you can buy other potable speakers with much better quality. I am browsing now to get a better one.

Can't play loud enough 2007-08-15
Good idea for a product, but even at my loudest ipod 30Gb setting, the speakers are not loud enough. It is stereo, but tinny sounding. It's a fun gadget, but I hardly ever use it.

It Really works Sounds nice. 2007-08-06
This is a tiny speaker product. It does what it is supposed to do! Good clear sound. Battery life is ok - it fills a nice niche - you can always get a bigger heavier product -- but this is a prize for its size.

Better than I had expected 2007-06-08
I have a 5G iPod. I use the speakers when I clean the house on weekends going from room to room. Because of its size, it can't 'overpower' the vacuum; but while scrubbing, dusting, mopping, etc, it's great. It's nice to freely move around without cords/cables and the isolation I feel when wearing my Shure earbuds. I find that REALLY true when I shoved my iPod into my old 1G Marware iPod case and handlebar mount and use the whole setup while on a bike ride.

The highs and midrange are surprisingly articulate. Volume is actually quite good (I can walk the dog and hold it in the other hand in a local street or park setting and it's quite loud--wouldn't think the results would be as good in a busy urban setting. Same for the bike ride alluded to above: busy/noisy street? Not a great speaker system. Quieter streets? Perfect!)

No real bass to speak of, but you wouldn't have expected that is so small a 'cabinet'. There is distortion only if the source was a bit too 'hot', or a song is a bit heavy on the bass or timpani. But, again, the midrange--vocals in particular--make up for it with an overall surprisingly pleasant sound. Battery life has been better than the spec of approx. 8 hours on a single AA battery.

Two gripes (which is why a 4 and not a 5): First, it doesn't sit squarely on the 5G iPod due to the offcentered earphone jack (see the photo.) Seems they could have solved this with an adapter to go under the speaket and into the iPod. 2) It can spin around 360 degrees. Doesn't usually but depending on your situation--for me when I use it on my bicycle--it can be a bit of a nuisance (solved, of course, by a strip of duct tape on the back of the speaker and iPod. Overall, this is a great product. I'm very satisfied.

Easy Speakers For Ipods 2008-04-05
This is an easy and simple speaker for your Ipod but it has to be fairy close to hear. I wanted it for my car but doesn't work due the the lack of noise level.

Do Not Buy 2008-03-11
These speakers , if you want to call them that, Suck. You can only hear them if you are in perfectly quiet situations.I recommend that you don't buy them.

Great little speaker 2008-01-08
This is a great little speaker, especially for the price. It is easy to use, has good battery life, and most importantly good sound quality. One hint that we found was that the speakers sound tinny unless you select small speaker from the Ipod menu. After that they sound just great.

Unusable after three months 2008-01-05
After I'd used mine regularly but not constantly for about three months, it developed a high-pitched whine that hurt my ears and gave me a headache. It was also annoying that there was no light to remind me to turn the switch off and stop draining the battery, but that's probably typical of this kind of product. I like the size and shape of it, and the sound quality was adequate for my needs (listening to podcasts) but it just didn't last.

Worth it. 2007-10-27
This is a pretty good speaker especially for the price. The sound and volume are good, too, especially given its size. Simple, easy, extremely portable. Slightly heavy because it takes a AA battery.

One thing I've noticed is that after the first use, I heard some static noise when my BlackBerry was getting messages. After that, I thought it was broken because I wasn't getting any sound. I kept it away from my BlackBerry and after a while when I tried it for the second time, it was making sound and worked like the first time. And then I read the review at Amazon and someone said that it needs to be turned OFF when not being used. Maybe that was the cause of the static noise. We'll see.
