The AutoInstall feature of Apple Remote Desktop 3 you can stage software to install on remote, mobile, or offline systems. If you have more than one mac on a network, you have to get this. It allows for remote use of the mac. You can watch, teach, control, etc. It also allows remote installation of programs. Any PC running VNC can also be accessed and controlled.
