Perfect Solution
2007-05-12
These lights were the perfect solution to a problem we have in our house. We have a raised walkway that "drops off" into the living room, dining room and kitchen. Guests often "missed the step" and tripped. We installed these lights on the face of the step and now we have no problems. Installation was simple and I love the remote control. This is an excellent product at any price, but for the price offered here, it is a steal! Also prompt delivery.
Excellent product

I have not found anything that comes close to the Aurelle deck lights so far for outdoor, built in lighting. The lights themselves are very sturdy, and mount perfectly without alot of work. I have installed 2 pacakges for a total of 20 lights in my deck project, and I couldnt be more satisfied with the work and the final product.
Easy and impressive

I read about these lights on the website Uncrate. I ordered them after a second person tripped on the stairs of my new house. Since I've put them in, no one has tripped! They were easy to install; I did it almost all by myself in a few hours. My neighbors have all commented on how great they look.
Note: I paid an electrician to connect the lights into a wall switch inside my house. The kit comes with a remote control to allow you to turn them on and off, but I wanted a wall switch (that I couldn't misplace). Including the remote allows the whole project to be done by an amateur like me, but it's nicer to have it connected to a wall switch.
Finishing touch to new deck
2006-11-06
I built a small 17 x 4 deck with wrap around stairs off our new sunroom. I used Procell decking since it is maintenance free. The finishin touch is the LED lighting. It turned out great. I received so many compliments about the lighting and the LEDs put enough light out to brighten up the steps. We alos put them around the perimeter to lighten up the edges.
I've had them for about 2 months and they have worked fine. Relatively easy to install. Just need a 3/4 and 1.5" drill bits and some clear silicone calking to set them in place.
Great product so far!

Wow these lights rock. they do light things up well for our new deck. they were super easy to install. the only reason it did not get 5 stars, i cant find singles to add to the system that can hold twenty lights, as stated in the manual.Where can i buy these singles??? i dont need two more full kits.

I ordered and installed these lights in July of 2007. Within two days one of the lights quite working. I called the customer service and they sent me a replacement one that I received the next week.
Installation is easy, they work great, and everyone who sees them is impressed.
Great lights but one went bad.

These lights are really very good. I have two sets and they are great for creating patterns around planters on decks. I have mine hooked up to an electronic timer so the lights come on and go off every night without having to use the remote. One problem I have is that one of the LED assemblies wasn't properly sealed so water got in. Now it will not light up and trying to get support from Philips has so far been fruitless. I certainly don't want to spend $100 on another set just to get one replacement LED assembly. Here's hoping Philips will come through.
Great lighting option

I actually have 3 sets of lights (30 in total) lighting up various stair sets on the vertical (shining out rather than up). I've tried it in both directions however I noticed that in the dark, the lighting is actually pretty bright and kinda blinding if you are walking over it when it shines up. I'm pretty happy with the unit other than for one issue. The frequency of the receivers are all the same so that you can use one remote for all 3 units. However I have a heck of a time getting them all to turn off and on at the same time. It takes me a little effort to do the clicks so that all 3 units turn off at the same time. Inevitably, I have one set off and 2 on or 2 off and 1 on, etc. I can't even attach all three units to a master remote switch as these units default to off when plugged in so that you can't keep them on to use a different remote system.
Overall I am keeping these units as they are the best style of lighting that I've found for decks and the pricing has dropped recently (especially in Canada where they can be found for less that $90 CDN). I will live with the remote issue but for people that have only one set of 10 lights, then the above issue will never be a problem. These suckers are bright and my deck looks like a landing strip at nite but I like that.
