Nice set of knives
2008-08-11
I got this set as a birthday gift and have had them for nine months. They are very nice and sharp and of course the color is awesome. One word of caution though, do not leave them sitting in or near water for any length of time. I left the largest knife in the sink with some other dirty dishes for two days and there were four little rust spots tha popped up on the blade. Some steel wool took care of it but now I make sure the wash and dry them as soon as I finish using them. The serated edge knife is hard to wash - the teeth bite into the scrubber I use. I wish the teeth were not so close together but it is a great knife for bread. Other than that I love these - I have almost the whole KitchenAid/Cuisinart pink collection. This is one of the better items.
Cook For The Cure?

Having bought EVERY pink item in the last several months. I was dismayed to discover that none of the money was going to CFTC just because I had bought them. Seems that in VERY small print on the hang tag, there is a disclaimer. You have to go online and register the product. Only then will KitchenAid fork over the Money...... Yes for something as small as a set of measuring cups or a knife, you have to register.
Of course I discovered this long after I had thrown away the hang tags. So I went to LOWES and wrote down the UPC from the items they still stocked there. They were out of several items I have and didn't know if they were getting any more. So now I am off to the mall kitchen store. Wish me luck. Oh and SAVE those hang tags.

I've only used the knives a couple of times as I'm saving them for when I move into a new place, however when I have used them I've been impressed. The only thing is they are a little smaller than I imagined; however, this works for me because I have small hands.
Great!

These are very good knives. They are sharp and are of good construction. As a bonus they are pretty and look great on the counter.
Great Set of Knives

This is a great set of basic prep knives. The size and weight are perfect for me because my hands are somewhat small and the grips seem to be just right for petite hands. The textured grips provide an added measure of support. Blades are sharp and do the job well.
Excellent buy for the occasional chef

I bought this for mother's day for my mother, a breast cancer survivor (6 years in 2007), despite the fact that my father does most of the cooking. About six months later, I visited them and made them a gourmet meal with these knives. I was shocked (pleasantly) when my dad said that their ceramic sharpener had broken, and they hadn't replaced it in over a year... so six months later, and these knives still were quite sharp. While they aren't the same quality of my normal wustoff knives, they certainly do the job "in a pinch". If you don't do a lot of cooking, but want to have something better than a box-store $10 butter knife, something along these lines will do perfectly.
