I had gastric bypass surgery a year ago and am constantly on the hunt for low carb-high protein snacks/foods. At 100 calories, 2 carbs, and 20 grams of protein, this product is perfect for my nutritional needs. While not decadent, it is tasty.
Better Than Instone in 3 Ways

SERVE COLD, only. The chocolate Snack & Slim is better than Instone pudding for 3 reasons. Snack & Slim is creamier, it's sweeter, thereby making it seem to have a more chocolate taste and the price is lower. Both Snack & Slim and Instone Pudding are virtually the same from a nutritional standpoint, but when you figure in the lower price, especially with Amazon.com's subscription price and free shipping, Snack & Slim is a no brainer. With the NEW REVISED NUTRITIONAL GUIDELINES, the daily requirement for protein for men is 100 grams a day and for women the daily requirement is 80 grams. This 20 gram protein pudding is the perfect protein supplement for people who have had bariatric surgery and/or for those who are falling short of their daily protein intake.
Not the best ever

This pudding tastes a little funky. It sports kind of a metallic, sort of bitter aftertaste, and I can't quite identify the main flavor, but in my humble estimation, it ain't chocolate. I've had Medifast pudding, which is equally low-calorie & high-protein, and was expecting something more along those lines...something that tastes more like, um, pudding. I wish I'd found a single can of the stuff somewhere before committing to a whole case of the stuff. Convenient? Yep. Great for my diet? Absolutely. Palatable? Not so much.

Although the Instone banana flavor is the best tasting in my opinion, the Snack & Slim appears to be identical except for the label at only two thirds the cost, so it is really hard to beat. I am on a reduced calorie low cholesterol diet, and this pudding is a great way to get some healthy soy protein as well as calcium without a lot of calories. I enjoy both the vanilla and chocolate flavors. I have given it to friends and some love it and some hate it, so it just depends on the individual. Probably a slight sucralose (splenda) aftertaste, although I don't notice it. I love this stuff and am hooked. I like to rotate the chocolate and vanilla Snack & Slim with the Instone banana for variety, but all are good in my opinion.

While trying to lose a few extra pounds this product is a great meal replacement because of the amount you get and it totally satisfies you. And you can't beat the great taste...both chocolate and vanilla are VERY good.
Very Good! 2007-04-06
This pudding tastes identical to Stallone's Instone brand, though it sells for a lot less. Just like Instone, this has 100 calories, and 20 grams of protein. It's creamy and very good!
I've tried the vanilla, as well, and although I almost always prefer chocolate to other flavors, the vanilla is actually better tasting than the chocolate, but this chocolate is good, too, though the flavor is just a little more bland than the vanilla. Don't mistake bland for rich-- this is EXTREMELY rich.
My kids love pudding, too, so I thought I'd try to encourage them to eat this, as well, since they could benefit once in a while from some extra protein. They did not like it. At all. As a matter of fact, my almost-four-year-old cried. I had to immediately show her that, "Look honey-- here's your Jello Pudding Chocolate Pudding!!! This is the bad pudding. Your pudding is still yummy!"
Great tasting protein in a chocolate treat 2007-04-03
This is the best portable protein, especially if you don't want to be deprived of your chocolate snacks. It tastes very good, especially topped with a little cool whip. Even alone it really doesn't have an aftertaste and you're getting 20 grams of protein and no sugar.
Great for post bariatric patients as well as older folks who still need additional protein. I always keep these on hand.

This product tastes good as well as provides the needed protein essential for post weight-loss surgery patients.
