I have, on the advice of my OB/GYN been using Dove(white) for over 25 years!!My skin is very sensitive and dry and he recommended I should use it instead of other brands. He was not wrong! It works very well for me!

I was pleased to shop by mail through Amazon Groery. I saved money, loved the convenience, and liked the free shipping and $10 coupon.
Great for dry skin -- but not great for those prone to acne

I've used all versions of Dove soaps successfully for years, but "successful" for *me* means not using it on my face *ever* & not using it on my chest or back during the summer, when those areas of my skin become oilier than in cooler weather & more prone to break-outs.
However, this soap *is* very moisturizing to the skin & I love using it in the shower during the winter. My daughter, who has dry skin year-round, uses it successfully year-round & it keeps *her* skin smooth & soft. It is so mild compared to most commerical bar soaps, in fact, that my pediatrician recommended using it as my daughter's bath soap when she was still an infant.
However, if your skin is at all prone to breakouts, use something else for your face & any other susceptible areas. Although the claim is that each bar contains "1/4 cup of moisturizing lotion," in fact, the moisturizing components are derived principally from animal tallow (sodium tallowate), & coconuts (Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Coconut Acid, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Cocoate or Sodium Palm Kernelate), both of which can aggravate or trigger breakouts & blackheads in those susceptible to acne (see "Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter without Me" by Paula Begoun). It also contains both fragrance and coloring agents, which also causes allergic reactions on some people.
Read. The. Label. Forewarned is forearmed!!!
Leaves you smelling fresh and clean!

Smooth on the skin, won't dry you out

This is a great soap if you have dry skin. My only criticism is the scent is a bit feminine for my taste. A good scent, but feminine. (Hence the 4 stars instead of 5). Maybe this is somewhat unfair because i haven't tried all their flavors.
Nevertheless, for dry skin sufferers your prayers have been heard.
Doesn't dry skin

We've been using this soap for years. I had a really dry skin problem, itching to the point I thought I had something. Dermatologist said it was nothing but dry skin and that I was using the worse soap out there and recommended Dove. No problems since AND now it comes right to our door.
Ah-hhhhhhhhh ... I feel so fresh ... and beautiful too!

I just scrubbed myself with a bar of good ol' dependable Dove. I feel like a million dollars. Am going to get my hair cut now, so I'll probably lure a whole new set of friends with my cocky new attitude.
Amazon had photos of the Dove body wash right beside the bar soap (Beauty Bar? I hope so!), but being an old-fashioned gal I decided to stick with the tried-and-true. I love the silky feel of the soap against my skin, followed by the rough texture of the wash-cloth as it swirls it around. Ah-hhhhh ... and the smell is intoxicating--so fresh and pure. (I told you it doesn't take much to make me happy.)
But now I see a product called Caress, and am wondering if that might feel even better. hmmmmmmmmmm ... If you try it, let me know.

Dove makes great soap for the shower or even if you're merely washing your hands. Although I personally consider this product to be soap, officially it's a "beauty bar" substitute for soap in that it contains a good amount of moisturizing lotion. Soap doesn't always moisturize; and so Dove tries to set their product apart from soap when they advertise the moisturizing abilities of their product. Rest assured, however, that you will find this item where the rest of the soap is stocked in your grocery store.
The bars of soap are rather large but they don't slip out of your hands too easily; the shape of the bar helps you hold onto it. The Dove "beauty bars" do seem to truly help moisturize my skin when I use them to take a shower or wash my hands. The scent is mild but if you are sensitive to any scent you may want to use a completely unscented type of Dove soap.
Dove is a little more expensive than other soaps but many people like me swear it's worth it. My best friend uses Dove religiously and he says it helps his skin a great deal. One reviewer wrote elsewhere that Dove soap is not particularly useful for acne; but I cannot personally comment on this because I do not have acne or other types of skin breakouts. I did notice, however, that two other people commented on that review and they stated that Dove soap did help them with their acne. If any skin condition is a concern for you, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product.
Overall, I love these Dove "beauty bars" with their moisturizing lotion. They are a bit more costly; but they are worth it if you want to pamper your skin in the shower or at the bathroom vanity sink. Pick up a package today and give yourself a little extra pampering!!!
Enjoy!!!
