you get what you pay for

I love this calculator, but its true that its not the best device. It takes me three or four pushes of the button to turn it on and there is something rattling around inside. But all in all, I would recommend it. I actually thought I lost it, and ordered a new one right away. It has enough foods listed for me, and it's easy to add new ones. I only keep track of caloric intake, but you can do fat, fiber, etc. But, you're def not going to get a $80 device for $10!

I am very pleased with this product. I was a bit worried after reading some of the previous reviews. I've had very little problems with it - once it quit on me, but I used the reset button and its been great ever since. I purchased it not only for the great price, but because I could add 30 new foods, unlike the last one I had where I could only add 4.Timex Nutrition Manager

Don't Waste Your Money

I bought a Timex Nutrition Manager and it worked great for about 2 weeks. During that time I bought two more as gifts for my dieting buddies. None of them worked longer than 2 weeks! I even bought new batteries trying to get them to work. The concept is great, but they don't work so it is worthless. What a disappointment. I had always liked Timex.

For over a year now I've been trying to diet, but I failed misearably because I either wasn't bothered to count calories and carbs of the foods I was eating, because I didn't knew the foods I was eating were bad, or because it was just too complicated.

Me and two friends bought this little device and it's absolutely INDESPENSABLE now! I carry it everywhere I go! I get to enter my own foods I take either to work and enter their nutritional values (Lean Cuisine, Slim Fast...) or I use it in restaurants to know what to eat or not. Every single food I've looked for is in the device so no more guessing.

You can set your own goals of how much Carbs, Fat, Calories, Fiber and Protein you eat a day, and as you add meals into your diary (or just calculate future meals!) you can easily check the remaining amount of anything you have left, and you can see if you've gone over the limit. Good to have a little reminder when you go overboard on the pancakes. :)

Once you finish your meal, you can add your foods into the diary, and with that tool you can see the total amount of carbs, fat, calories, fiber and protein you've eaten within the past 7 days, and an average of the whole week. (Yes, you get to set the date and time to avoid confusion!) It even comes with a calculator. Everybody loves calculators.

I haven't passed my goal ONCE since I started, this is the first time in my life that I've maintained my diet. And in a little bit over a month I've already lost 15 pounds. Not kidding! For 11.55 bucks, this is definetively a must have.

The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because my two friends weren't very satisfied... Friend number a could never figure it out, and gave up without trying, and the Nutrition Manager from friend number two broke within a week. Not sure if I completely agree with them but hey, it's a word of mouth... :D

Anyway, in summary it's a convenient calorie counter that you can take anywhere with you. It's fast, lightweight, easy and effective. A must buy!
