My daughter had a stress fracture in her heel. After coming out of the boot, she still had some heel pain. I bought this as a light weigh solution that she could wear in shoes and around the house on the hard floors. She says it makes a big difference. It is comfortable,lightweight enough and has a low enough profile that she can wear it with her tennis shoes without it showing. My only disappointment is I thought the gel insert removed so that you could freeze it. It does not, so I guess you would have to put the whole thing in the freezer.
