Almost great

I use my 2 year-old Nano a lot! I listen to audiobooks on my daily 2 1/2 hour cummute, so the thing is practically permanently attached to my neck. Within a year of purchasing my nano & white Apple lanyard, I had a very dirty-looking lanyard, even though I tried washing it & scrubbing it with a toothbrush, etc. Though clean, the thing remained greyish. I found the Griffin black lanyard and thought I had a permanent solution to the problem. Alas! Although the Griffin lanyard has fine sound, & a better, more practical look, its construction is not nearly as durable. At the back of the neckpiece is a rubber connection where the string for the neck and the headphone wires meet-- the rubber insulation wore out at the juncture and rendered the copper wires frayed-- in sum, it was kaput after 6 mos. Why can't Apple make a black lanyard or Griffin make a more sturdy one? Ugh.
Great Price!

There is no other headphone for this price. What a deal! I couldn't believe how inexpensive they were, and they are so small too. They must be the lightest ones on the market.
Good product at economical price

I like the tunebuds. It's a good concept - earbuds and lanyard, all in one. Fits good, sounds good, and looks good, especially when I'm out for a run or working out. My wife doesn't know it yet but I'm buying another set for her.
I LOVE THESE HEADPHONES

What could be better than hanging your first generation ipod nano around your neck?
Well, First off, I must say that these headphones lasted about 3 months before they were totally unusable. The plastic coating on the wire coming from the neck cord to the earbuds hardened so much that it actually started to snap in places before the left side was just hanging together by the exposed audio wires. This is an unforgivable flaw in this product.
Sound quality was passable if you didn't care about what your music sounded like. I must say that they did feel comfortable in my ears. Of course, when the wire started to harden they were difficult to keep in the ear.
I really like the design. Much better than Apple's lanyard headphones, in my opinion. The cord around the neck is comfortable as it's cloth covered. You barely know it's around your neck. The other flaws detract from what could have been a stellar product.
Doesn't work with 2nd Generation iPod nano

TuneBuds are designed to unleash your nano's full audio potential. TuneBuds isolate your listening experience from outside sound by fitting comfortably inside your ears, to deliver rich, crystal clear audio. TuneBuds are based on Griffin's acclaimed EarThump design, with the same clean, crisp highs and mind-numbing bass. Standard earbuds pale in comparison. But great sound is only half the TuneBuds picture. Snap TuneBuds onto the nano's dock connector, and you're up and running. TuneBuds' smart design, integrating the audio cables into the lanyard, keeps you free of excess cords and tangled lines, and your iPod nano stays accessible for selecting songs and adjusting volume.
It's function and style vs. sound quality

If you need a lanyard to easily carry around your iPod nano, then this will work. It comes in black so it will match the more popular nano color (unlike the Apple lanyard, which only comes in white). It looks very nice. Even though the length is not adjustable, it was about right for me.
It's a bit difficult to connect it, but there is no chance of it coming out if you run or play sports. It comes with extra buds so you can find the right size to fit your ears.
The big problem is the sound quality. It is really muddled - 'not crisp'. It's kind of like listening to an old FM radio. The dynamic range is just not there. I tried every nano EQ setting to try to adjust for it. The best I found was 'treble increase' and even then, it still sounded awful to me.
In short, this works well for a lanyard, and will fit your ears right. But, if what you hear matters most, you won't find this product worth the sacrifice.
